THE SECOND COMING

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and

everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at

last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

William Butler Yeats

JOKES THAT CAN BE TOLD IN CHURCH

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, 'Why is the

bride dressed in white?'' The mother replied, 'Because white is the color of happiness,

and today is the happiest day of her life.' The child thought about this for a moment then

said, 'So why is the groom wearing black?'

“Aware?”

Luke 12:1-36, Romans 13:11

(Rom 13:11 for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

(John 14:2-3) I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be

also.

(Titus 2:13) Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great

God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

(Luke 21:7) And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and

what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

(Mark 13:32) But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which

are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

(Mat 16:2-3) He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be

fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for

the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but

can ye not discern the signs of the times?

(Luke 21:8) And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in

my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after

them.

(Luke 21:9-10) But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for

these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

(Luke 21:11) And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and

pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

(Luke 21:12, 16, 17) But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and

persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought

before kings and rulers for my name's sake. And ye shall be betrayed both by

parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to

be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

(Luke 21:20) And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know

that the desolation thereof is nigh.

(Luke 21:24) And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away

captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until

the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

(Luke 21:25a) And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars;

(Luke 21:25b) and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and

the waves roaring;

(Luke 21:26) Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things

which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

(Mat 24:24) insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

(2 Th 2:3) for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first

(1 Tim 4:1) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall

depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

(Mat 24:12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

(Luke 18:8) when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

(Luke 21:34) And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that

day come upon you unawares.

(Rom 13:11) knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:

(Eph 5:14) Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest,.

(1 Th 5:6-7) Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

For they that sleep sleep in the night;

(Mat 24:38, 39)

(Rom 8:5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that

are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

(2 Cor 4:18) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which

are not seen:

(Phil 3:14) I press toward the mark for the prize

(Col 3:1) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above,

(Col 3:2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

(Heb 11:27) for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

(Heb 12:2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;

(Luke 21:33) Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

(Luke 21:36) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy

to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
