ABOUT FAITH CHURCH SCHERERVILLEFaith Church Schererville seeks to be a radically reaching church that longs to see lives transformed by the power of God's great love. We are a come as you are church- come with all the mess, madness, regret and worry- but don't believe God will leave you the way that you came. He is a God who transforms us.

FAITH SCHERERVILLE CORE FOURFaith Schererville places high value on evangelism and discipleship (reaching the disconnected and growing the connected) and community and care (transforming and restoring the world one relationship at a time).

EVANGELISMFCS is a community living into the call of evangelism. Because we are a community that has experienced transformed lives through the redemptive work of Christ at the cross, we each have our own Jesus story to share. This comes directly from the energetic, eager example at the pulpit emanating to the people. For many, FCS has played an integral and profound role in their introduction to Jesus; some for the first time, some in a new way. We find ourselves

passionate about Jesus and eager to share our stories, yet needing the guidance and the example of leadership to assist in the process.

DISCIPLESHIPFCS is made up of many who are just beginning their journey with Jesus, along with those who have professed Christ for many years but, for the first time, have truly become Jesus followers. FCS takes the command to ‘make disciples’ seriously. Because of our physical space restraints (see below) we’ve become innovative in this process, discipling through relation-ships/mentoring in coee shops, homes and small gatherings.

COMMUNITYNot only do we do life better together, we become better together. The best version of our-selves, the version God most desires for us, happens through accountability found in commu-nity. Hard truth is received when authentically loved. Pop-up communities happen organical-ly within our congregation and also through serving communities. It is our goal to bolster the temperature of serving communities at FCS and get all connected into a community.

CAREOur call is to love one another through being known. Our community is authentic, inviting one another into our real lives, which can be very messy space. But God has equipped us with love and grace. We minister to each other in times of need and crisis (through prayer, visitation, meals, provision and counsel). It is our desire that through our love, God’s love will be fully realized.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT FAITH CHURCH SCHERERVILLE

SPACEFaith Church Schererville was birthed 2.5 years ago and resides in a leased gym facility from Campagna Academy, which requires weekly set-up and tear-down. Our partnership with Campagna Academy is strong and will be on-going as the Schererville Campus Pastor contin-ues to foster and strengthen this relationship. Campagna Academy is a residential welfare facility for at-risk children and adolescents, making this Faith site non-traditional in nature and the most diverse campus within the greater Faith Church family. Because we do not possess 24/7 meeting space for ministry, community must be sought and fostered through non-traditional channels.

CONGREGATIONWhile many Faith Church sites have a strong historical Reformed bent to their membership base, FCS is a true melting pot of culture, classes, religious aliations and backgrounds. The growth at FCS has occurred organically as is not attributed to an influx of transferred church memberships. Thus, we have a small and solid core but a mass that is new to the faith and the life of discipleship.Cultural Representation: Hispanic, Black, Caucasian, Indian, Canadian, Bi-Racial, WhiteAverage Attendance (2016): 233 (43 children)Median & Median age of member: 43Age mode of member: 36

CAMPUS LEADERSHIPIn 2017, Faith Church Schererville saw the installation of its first elders and deacons, with 3 elders and deacons being installed for this campus. They serve on staggered, 3 year terms that are renewable. At Faith Church, the elders oversee community care in the life of the congregation (called Community Care Elders) and the deacons oversee the campus budget and benevolent ministries at the campus (called Stewardship Team Deacons). These ocers serve as the Campus Leadership Team that typically meets monthly. Elders and Deacons also have meetings (roughly quarterly) with Elders and Deacons from other campuses of Faith Church.

WORSHIP EXPERIENCEThe Faith Schererville worship experience follows the Faith at-large sermon series calendar. Campus pastors work in a collaborative eort to develop the calendar, each championing various series. Live teaching occurs most Sundays with the exception of a video message approximately every six weeks, which is viewed at all sites to foster unity between Faith Church locales. Our worship experience includes the musical and creative arts, and incorpo-rate innovative and traditional elements. Our house band is comprised of vocalists, keyboard, drums, and electric & acoustic guitars. The Faith Schererville campus is a worshipping com-munity, eager to encounter God in sacred space. For our children, Faith Kids oers a simulta-neous worship experience allowing our young to worship at their level.

HOW WE ARE RESTORING THE WORLD. . . Faith Schererville is a radically reaching church that longs to see lives transformed by the power of God’s great love. Although small, FCS is fiercely committed to having notable presence within the community through its partnership with Campgana Academy and involvement in local events and outreach initiatives. FCS recognizes that all are gifted and can be of great value in the moving the Kingdom of God forward. Our congregation uses their gifts in the arts (creative, musical, technical), in hospitality (Front Line ministries), intercession (prayer team), care (visitation & meals) and love (children’s ministry) taking ownership of the responsibility to practice and use what He has given. FCS welcomes all, just as they are, in the state they come but has no intention of letting anyone, young or old, stay unchanged.

. . . ONE RELATIONSHIP AT A TIME.Due to the lack of permanent space, Faith Schererville has sought alternative means to foster and deepen relationships. Coee & Treats following the Sunday service provides on-site, let-your-guard-down space for people to connect beyond the obligatory handshake. Prayer night is a weekly staple bringing us closer in relationship by voicing our needs, hurts and prais-es collectively to God. Youth mini-church is a true picture of what the Kingdom of God looks like, creating a place where students gather, learn, and grow together despite a culture that says they are too dierent to bond. Congregational love and investment of time has built a solid relationship with the Campagna residents. Our congregation has assimilated these at-risk kids into our church and our lives, oering fostering, tutoring and group instruction. Men’s & Women’s ministries have gained traction through regular meetings. Small group gatherings are a staple of all Faith sites, Schererville included. In addition to these corporate meetings, mentoring relationships are a fundamental part of the FCS DNA.
