I had the good fortune to see an early version of Molly Bell’s REAL HOUSEWIVES musical while I was working on another show at Center Rep in Walnut Creek. The show was sharp, funny, and sassy, and I was hooked. Molly had cleverly figured out how to capture elusive stage lightning and put into a musical theater bottle.

Molly and Dolores Duran-Cefalu, our extraordinary musical arranger, have been working for the past year on this new version of the show specifically for you. Garry, Kathleen, Sherry and the staff at the Falcon Theatre set us up with a workshop reading this past December that really helped us focus on the final touches that were needed. I give great thanks and appreciation to the Falcon and the amazing actors who lent their talents for that endeavor.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy the show that’s come from all of our hard work. If you do enjoy it (and let’s just assume you will), please go and have some white wine with lunch tomorrow and tell your friends about the “amazing” time you had at the show. They’ll be glad you did. So will we. From here, we hope to sprout little “Real Housewives” musicals across the land. With your word of mouth and a liberal sprinkling of Pinot Grigio, we might just make a real go of it!

Happy Housewives!-Roger Bean, Director
