INSTRUCTIONS TO COMPETITORS
• Only gymnasts currently competing will be allowed into
the competition arena. Once the competition is over, they
must leave the arena.
• All competitors must attend the prize presentation
scheduled for their event as stated in the program.
• All schools attending the final prize giving ceremony at
the end of the competition must bring along their school
flags.
• All competitors may only proceed to the General Warm-
up area at the competition level for stretching at the time
scheduled for their event (generally 30 mins before the
commencement of their event).
Apparatus Warm-up Protocol at the NSG
• Each group will be given 5 minutes apparatus warm-up after
reporting to the Judges.
– Primary WAG Level 2
– Primary MAG Novice
– Primary Junior Level 1 Trial
• Each group will be given 7 minutes apparatus warm-up after
reporting to the Judges.
– Primary WAG Stage 2
– Primary WAG Level 3 & Level 4
– Secondary WAG Developmental
– Primary MAG Optional
– Secondary MAG Novice
Apparatus Warm-up Protocol at the NSG

• Each group will be given 10-15 minutes apparatus warm-up
after reporting to the Judges.
– Primary WAG Stage 3, Stage 4 & Singapore Junior
– Secondary MAG Optional
• Each group will be scheduled 10-15 minutes apparatus
warm-up based on a rotation schedule, and each gymnast
will be further given 30/50 seconds touch warm-up according
to FIG protocol after reporting to the Judges.
– Secondary WAG Optional
Qualification/Withdrawal Procedures for IAF
• Eight gymnasts who obtained the highest scores on each
apparatus (with a maximum of two gymnasts per school) in
the Team/All-Around Competition shall qualify for the IAF
Competition.
• Substitution may be made from the same team provided
that the substitute gymnast has obtained a superior score
to that of the next qualifying gymnast in turn (first IAF
reserve).
• Any substitution or withdrawal from IAF must be made
known to the Convenor at the end of the day of the
qualifying competition, immediately after the drawing of
lots.
• The first IAF reserve may be called up should any finalist
not be able to compete.
Technical/Judging UpdatesMAG
1. All Novice routines: Omission deduction of 0.5 pts
2. All Optional routines: List of Additional Recognized Elements Not
Found in Code of Points 2017-2020 is applicable.
WAG
1. All Levels and Stages routines, except for Stage 3 & 4 UB: Brush
deduction of 0.3 pts by E-panel is applicable.
2. All Levels and Stages routines:
– Spotting Assistance deduction of 0.5 pts by E-panel is applicable
– Omission deduction of 1.0 pt by D-panel is applicable.
– Verbal coaching deduction of 0.5 pts by D-panel is applicable.
3. Level 2: Handstand on springboard to flat back Vault – Deduction
of 1.0 pt for hand gripping the end of the board in handstand
position.
4. Singapore Junior: Deduction tables for Vault 1 and Vault 2 for use
at the NSG is provided. (Annex B & C)

PRIMARY SCHOOL GYMNASTICS
This award is given to the athlete of each sports team who
best exemplifies the attributes of character, integrity and
sportsmanship.
Characteristics
•Team focus – unselfish and committed to the team over
individual performance. Willing to help out in any way that
benefits the team and its members.
•Sportsmanship – Displays good sportsmanship, respect to
officials and opposing teams, even in the face of adverse
outcomes. Demonstrates co-operation and respect in dealing

•Integrity – Committed to do what is right.
• School to nominate 1 gymnast per division (RG) / 1
gymnast per team (AG) even in cases whereby schools
do not have any teams.
• Nomination Form can be downloaded from the
SchoolSports Website (www.spssc.sg).
• Certificates will be sent to schools upon endorsement by
Convenors.

Secondary School: Selection Criteria
• The SSST representatives for MAG & WAG will beselected based on the results of the National SchoolGames Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2017.
• To be eligible for selection gymnasts have to compete inthe Optional Event at the National School GamesArtistic Gymnastics Championships 2017.
• For MAG, gymnasts have to compete in the 6 MAGapparatus – Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Rings,Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bars.
• For WAG, gymnasts have to compete in the 4 WAGapparatus – Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam andFloor Exercise.

Selection Criteria
• Where necessary, a secondary selection trial may beconducted for shortlisted gymnasts after theChampionships.
• 5 MAG & 5 WAG gymnasts will be selected to representSSST. Participation constitutes representation.
• In the event a gymnast has to be replaced, the nexteligible gymnast will be notified.
• Where possible, centralised familiarisation training willbe arranged for the gymnasts.
• A technical briefing session will be held for the new routines implementation for 2018 in May.
• Schools will be notified of the confirmed date, and the date will be published on sssc.sg and spssc.sg by end April.
