It’s December, Park Campus families! DEEECEMBER! This is the
month when the kids stay home for 2 weeks. When snow falls.
When we celebrate family, festivals of lights and when it feels
better to give than to receive. If only the weather helped us feel
this winter season upon us. Raise your hand if you still haven’t
packed your flip flops away? (We are raising our hands).
The PTO loves giving to our students and families. Did you
notice the recent “gift” that came home from us? Ah, yes, at
long last...a school directory! No more sending notes in with
your child to get a play date set up or sending in piles of
thank you cards or birthday invitations with your child to
hand out at school! You can look up your child’s classmates’
contact information in an easy reference that the PTO put together for you. Our
“Buy a Pie, Give a Pie” program coordinated by Market Day was a success. We were able to donate 50 pies to the
PLAN Food Pantry in Round Lake Beach. Thank you for helping us achieve the generous donation. The Mitten Tree
is now standing tall in the office. Please take a moment to visit the tree, and help make a contribution to a Park
Campus family in need. Wait, there’s a couple more ways for you to still give to your PTO and school this holiday
season....let’s show our appreciation for our TEACHERS. Visit teacherlists.org to see what your child’s teacher
wants or needs this year and help them check things off their classroom lists! Lastly, the PTO needs help gathering
donations for the raffle and silent auction at our annual Valentine’s Dinner Dance held in February. If you have
anything you can contribute from a sporting event ticket to a new toy, or if you own a business and can donate
your services or goods...it will all be very much appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered at or attended the Holiday Shop and Polar
Express Night! It was a great way to kick of the holiday season.

Did you miss the “snowball” fight at Park? Everyone had a great time watching Polar Express, hearing the story, playing
games, having hot chocolate (or ice cream) and snacks, getting some last minute shopping done at the Holiday Shop,
and yes – having a “snowball” fight. Who wouldn’t have a blast participating in a “snowball” fight with paper balls with their friends and teachers - complete with igloos for shelter! Thank you to thevolunteers that made this night wonderful!

CRIME SCENE SCIENCE ASSEMBLY 12.14.12All students will enjoy a 45 minute program introducing them to the exciting field of the
science behind solving crimes. Chemistry, physics, and biology will all be discussed through a variery of demonstrations involving LOTS of audience participation. The basic rules of observation and critical thinking will also be discussed. Will they be able to solve the great
mystery of “The Great Cat Caper”? As always, parents are welcome to attend. Please contact the office for the exact time of the assemblies.
MOVIE NIGHT 1.11.13 @ 7:00pmDoors open at 6:30pm-Movie starts at 7:00pm. Remember, please accompany all children to
this event! Ice Age 4: Continental Drift will be the feature attraction. Come in your jammies, and bring your blankets and pillows!
THE MITTEN TREE DUE 12.14.12The Mitten Tree is now in the main office. Please consider helping a
family at Park School Campus this holiday season. In addition to the usual mittens that help you buy gifts for a Park families, you can also find stars on the tree. These stars can be used to make a monetary
donations to the Family in Need fund. This fund helps needy Park students throughout the year - from going on field trips with their
classmates to getting the books and supplies they desperately need and
much more. The gift of giving never goes out of style.
WHAT’S HAPPENING ON CAMPUS FROM THE PTOWe are always looking for volunteers to assist us with our fun events. A little of your time can make a big difference to the PTO.
Don’t forget all the easy ways to help like using your Target RedCard or collecting Box Tops and Labels for Education.If you can’t spare your time, we’d be happy to also accept donations for raffles or monetary gifts to enhance our school.

11/9 Movie NightWe had another great turn out for movie Night! ‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted’ was a hit. The winner from Munchkins with Moms for 4 free tickets to the Valentine’s Dance was Marjorie Bianchi!
11/10 Market DayWe were able to deliver 50 pies just in time for the holidays to the PLAN
Food Pantry in Round Lake Beach. Thank you to all the families that particapted in “Buy and Pie, Give a Pie” last month.
11/13 General PTO MeetingThank you to all the teachers that joined us at the PTO Meeting. We always love hearing from you.
