BEFORE BEGINNING ASSEMBLY, PLEASE NOTEThe Minicraft Martin Mariner offers 2 building options.

The first building option pertains to the radar array.

The Mariner carried different radar configurations but external details can be characterized as the physicallylarger early AN/ASP-15 and smaller late production radar. This kit offers the builder a choice

of systems but the aircraft marking options offered only used the earlier AN/ASP-15 (parts B92/93).

SEE STEP 5 for additional important building notes.

The second building option offers the builder a choice of showing the PBM-5A with landing gear deployed (down) or retracted. Building the PBM-5A model with landing gear retracted would represent the

aircraft in flight or as the aircraft would appear in the water.

For proper display of the model representing the airplane on the ground,it is recommended that the model be built with landing gear deployed (down).

SEE STEP 5 for additional important building notes.

PLEASE NOTEBefore beginning assembly, take a few moments to review the entire instruction sheet. Your MINICRAFT Mariner

features numerous options which require slight variations in assembly depending on your model's final configuration. It is recommended to "dry-fit" all parts before gluing together. Leave small parts attached to sprue until they

are needed. Paint small parts individually before proceeding with an assembly step.

Your Minicraft model includes high-quality waterslide decals. These decals adhere best to a glossy surface; and it is recommended that you apply a clear gloss coat over your painted model. Use a sharp scissors or knife to cut individual decals from the carrier sheet. Do not cut into the clear film surrounding the individual decals.

* It is recommended that you apply one decal at a time. * Place the decal section in warm water, when first inserted in the water your decal will curl, after approximately ten seconds the decal will uncurl. Remove from water and lay on a paper towel. After approximately 10 - 20 seconds the decal will slide freely from the backing paper. Use a small brush to help slide the decal from the backing paper and into position on the model. Carefully blot excess water from the decal, using care not to move the decal or tear it. * If you choose to use a setting solution, apply a thin coat over the decal following the manufacturer’s instruction. * Allow the decal to dry overnight. Wash any adhesive residue off the model with a small amount of clean water and dry thoroughly. * Apply clear gloss, matte or flat coat to seal decals following the instructions from the manufacturer.
