TO GIVE PRAISE TO GOD
CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 89
I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever, with my mouth I will proclaim your
faithfulness to all generations.
I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness
is as firm as the heavens.
You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one. I will establish your de-
scendants forever.”
O Lord of hosts, who is as mighty as you, O Lord? Your faithfulness sur-
rounds you.
* HYMN 265 “Jesus Shall Reign, Where’re the Sun”

gone our own way and broken your laws. For the sake of your Son who died
for us, forgive us, cleanse us, and change us. By your Holy Spirit enable us
to live for you and to please you more and more, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Genesis 1-6 “History, Science, Theology, Mythology, Aliens or God’s
message to His people and the world?”
Led by Karen Schmidt
This course helps us understand the Bible’s primeval story from
the perspective of the people and the cultures of the earliest
civilizations. As we learn how God was revealing Himself to the
ancient world, we will be learning how our own culture is impact-
ing modern perceptions of this sacred text. This 6 part study
will address all of the primary questions about Genesis 1-6 that
helped form our New Testament theology.

FREE PICTURES – As the Paxton Historical Committee continues to comb through and
organize our archives, we have found hundreds of pictures of Church School Class and

we will be displaying groupings of the extras – WE CONTINUE TO ADD NEW ONES
EACH WEEK. You may find a friend, child, or even you among them. Feel free to
help yourself. After September 23rd, those not taken will be discarded.
SHORT TERM HELPERS NEEDED! In September, the Paxton Historical Committee is
organizing our bulletin collection from years past. It would involve checking to make

be Wednesday, September 26th from 3:00 – 5:00. All meetings will be in the downstairs
Fellowship Hall. Even if you could help just once, it would be appreciated. Contact
