Crowdgranting Tech Startup Announces New, Expanded Partnership for Michigan Community Improvement Efforts Detroit, MI - Patronicity is excited to announce the next level of its work with the State of Michigan to create the newest opportunities to build vibrant communities statewide. After a record breaking year following the creation of the first-of-its-kind crowdgranting model, Patronicity will expand its partnership efforts to include not only the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) but the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). Bringing new ideas to the table with the addition of MSHDA follows the MEDC’s unparalleled success with Patronicity. From June 2014-September 2015, the “Public Spaces, Community Places” program contributed more than $2.8 million in community funding helping to activate over 3.1 million square feet of space throughout Michigan while more than quadrupling the impact of the grant dollars raised in the community. “The first year of this program has been very successful, and MEDC is pleased with the progress we’ve helped communities throughout the state make in their own improvements,” said Steve Arwood, president and CEO of MEDC. “Adding MSHDA to the list of partners will only expand and increase the success of the program and allow us to help more areas of the state. With both organizations focused on community development under the TED umbrella, this is a perfect example of how we can work together to drive results.” “Working together with MEDC elevates MSHDA’s long history of helping communities create strategic plans for growth. Now we will play an active role in seeing those concepts become bricks and mortar,” said Kevin Elsenheimer, executive director at MSHDA. “This is an incredible opportunity to help drive public space projects in local communities while being a catalyst for increased economic activity around the state. The potential to bring new vitality to communities and enable residents to play an active role in the growth of their hometowns is wonderful. We are really looking forward to this new partnership.”

Crowdgranting Tech Startup Announces New, Expanded Partnership for

Michigan Community Improvement Efforts

Detroit, MI - Patronicity is excited to announce the next level of its work with the State of

Michigan to create the newest opportunities to build vibrant communities statewide.

After a record breaking year following the creation of the first-of-its-kind crowdgranting model,

Patronicity will expand its partnership efforts to include not only the Michigan Economic

Development Corporation (MEDC) but the Michigan State Housing Development Authority

(MSHDA).

Bringing new ideas to the table with the addition of MSHDA follows the MEDC’s unparalleled

success with Patronicity. From June 2014-September 2015, the “Public Spaces, Community

Places” program contributed more than $2.8 million in community funding helping to activate

over 3.1 million square feet of space throughout Michigan while more than quadrupling the

impact of the grant dollars raised in the community.

“The first year of this program has been very successful, and MEDC is pleased with the progress

we’ve helped communities throughout the state make in their own improvements,” said Steve

Arwood, president and CEO of MEDC. “Adding MSHDA to the list of partners will only expand

and increase the success of the program and allow us to help more areas of the state. With both

organizations focused on community development under the TED umbrella, this is a perfect

example of how we can work together to drive results.”

“Working together with MEDC elevates MSHDA’s long history of helping communities create

strategic plans for growth. Now we will play an active role in seeing those concepts become

bricks and mortar,” said Kevin Elsenheimer, executive director at MSHDA. “This is an

incredible opportunity to help drive public space projects in local communities while being a

catalyst for increased economic activity around the state. The potential to bring new vitality to

communities and enable residents to play an active role in the growth of their hometowns is

wonderful. We are really looking forward to this new partnership.”

"Better partnerships create better projects, and with the community’s engagement to direct the

projects that are most meaningful them, we’ve seen incredible Public Space and Community

Place place-making initiatives across the state," said Ebrahim Varachia, co-founder of

Patronicity.

The new, extended partnership is funded through September 30th, 2016.
