Betsy Ross (January 1, 1752 – January 30, 1836) is credited with making the first American flag.

FRANCIS SCOTT KEY

Francis Scott Key(August 1, 1779 – January 11, 1843)

An lawyer, author, and amateur poet, from Georgetown, who wrote the lyrics to the United States' national anthem, ”The Star-Spangled Banner".

GEORGE WASHINGTON

George Washington (February 22, 1732 – December 14, 1799)

He led the American victory over Great Britian in the American Revolutionary War as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army from 1775 to 1783.

Led the writing of the Constitution in 1787.

Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743 – July 4, 1826)

This makes Franklin "the most accomplished American of his age and the most influential in inventing the type of society America would become.”

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)

Was an American clergyman, activist, and prominent leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement.
