Casting the MoldPlaster is mixed to be poured into the negative mold created earlier. The plaster sitsuntil it is hardened enough to be worked with. Once solid enough, the plaster issculpted down to better accommodate a tight fit for the patient.

PullingthePlasticA sheet of hot plastic isvacuum formed over thesculpted plaster previouslycreated.This is then cut off, sandedand placed onto the patient'sleg. This is a temporarysocket and will be replacedin the coming weeks.

Socket Fitting andComponentryThe socket is fit with the necessary components. The prosthetic leg is then tucked intoyour shoe and ready for use. Adjustments will be made until you are able to walk withcorrect posture and with comfort.

DonningInstructionsEach of these items will assist in your recovery and help makethe wear and use of the prosthesis more comfortable. Knowhow and when to use each of these and your recovery time willgreatly improve.

SOCKS HELP FILL OUT THE EMPTYSPACES IN YOUR SOCKET. THEY

WILL MAKE THE PROSTHESIS MORECOMFORTABLE TO WEAR. IF YOUR

PROSTHESIS FEELS LOOSE, ADDSOCKS TO MAKE THE FIT MORE

SECURE.

THESE ITEMS ARE HERE TO HELP YOU. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK FORHELP OR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CORRECTLY USE THEM.

USE THIS TO BETTERASSIST PUTTING ON BOTHSHRINKERS AND SOCKS.

WEAR THIS AT ALL TIMES WHENNOT WEARING THE PROSTHESIS.

YOUR RESIDUAL LIMB WILLENLARGE WITHOUT USE, ANDYOUR SOCKET MAY NOT FIT.
