• Patients on hemodialysis have to live daily with the
conditions of their disease and with many changes in
their daily lives1.
• The survey of patient satisfaction emanated in 2012
refers that 8.8% of our patients showed a lack of
information 2.

• Throughout 2015, 14 training courses were held with the
duration of approximately 30 minutes each for 84
patients. Each person performed a total of 7 hours over
12 months.

• Patient empowerment is associated with few
complications and increases self-esteem, independence,
self-responsibility, treatment compliance and quality of
life.
• Nurses, as important links in patient care on regular
hemodialysis programme, should promote patients’
autonomous decision making and adherence for the
treatment regimen.
