THE SCIENCE OF OZONEUnlike the Oxygen we breathe (O2), Ozone is a powerful oxidant made of three oxygen atoms (O3). The third oxygen atom in Ozone has a weak bond, which breaks off and destroys foreign bodies in the water. Ozone can safely kill pathogens, microorganisms and both organic and inorganic contaminants through oxidation.

INJECTOR MANIFOLD KIT INSTALLATION

The Injector Manifold Kit should be plumbed into the pool line. Ozone is injected through a venturi while the pool circulation system is operating.

INSTALLATION DIAGRAMSAll DEL systems are designed for easy installation on both new and existing residential pool applications. The ozone generator is easily wall mounted and connects to the pool timer. The automated system injects ozone through an Injector Manifold assembly that is installed in the return line following the filter and heater. To eliminate the potential for bubbles in the pool, an MDV Kit can be used to ensure that all ozone is removed prior to the return line re-entering the pool.

MDV KIT INSTALLATION

To install a DEL Ozone system with the Mixing De-Gas Vessel (MDV), connect the ozone generator to a regular Venturi injector included in the MDV install kit. This flows into the MDV and back out to a dedicated or main return.

When used with the DEL Ozone lineup, the MDV prevents ozone bubbles from returning to the pool. It prevents bubbles from gathering under the cover or inside plumbing. In each MDV, a GAC carbon destruct cartridge destroys excess ozone as it is removed.
