Principals in the discussion were Mrs. James B. M. Bulloch and James Hoyt , senior vice command- er of Moriches post , Veterans of Forei gn Wars , Chamber Secretary Edwin Arnzen , Joseph Gomez and William Reid. Mrs. Bulloch and Mn Hoyt are co-chairmen of a war memorial committee set up this year by the Chamber and Messrs. Gomez and Reid are also committee members. Although no final decision was reached on the type of memorial to be erected, it appeared as the discussion progressed that the memorial will be of a type agreed upon by the VFW and American Leg ion and that it would most probably be placed near the en- trance of Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The memorial , a stone surmounted by an eagle with spots on all four sides for p laques , was desi gned by Emery Tenke , Jr., of the VFW. The War Memorial fund raised after World War II and now in Chamber custod y contains some $1,600. These funds would be used to defray the cost of the me- morial or pay for it comp letel y. Only the names of Center Moriches vets of World War II would be inscribed on a bronze plaque on the memorial , it was said. MB Grace Lutheran Ground Is Broken MASTIC BEACH The Rev. Arthur W. Progress Is MadeOn War MemorialIn Center Moriches

CENTER MORICHES—Defini teplans for a Center Moiiches warmemorial emerged from a lengthyand sometimes heated discussionat a public meeting held by theChamber of Commerce ot theMoriches at Center Moriches Highschool last week.

Principals in the discussion wereMrs. James B. M. Bulloch andJames Hoyt , senior vice command-er of Moriches post , Veterans ofForei gn Wars , Chamber SecretaryEdwin Arnzen , Joseph Gomez andWilliam Reid. Mrs. Bulloch andMn Hoyt are co-chairmen of awar memorial committee set upthis year by the Chamber andMessrs. Gomez and Reid are alsocommittee members.

Although no final decision wasreached on the type of memorialto be erected , it appeared as thediscussion progressed that thememorial will be of a type agreedupon by the VFW and AmericanLegion and that it would mostprobably be placed near the en-trance of Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The memorial , a stone surmountedby an eagle with spots on all foursides for plaques, was designed byEmery Tenke, Jr., of the VFW.

The War Memorial fund raisedafter World War II and now inChamber custody contains some$1,600. These funds would be usedto defray the cost of the me-morial or pay for it completely.Only the names of Center Morichesvets of World War II would beinscribed on a bronze plaque onthe memorial, it was said.
