Business Challenges

Aircraft manufactures face the challenge at an early stage of the aircraft definition to

show to their customers a full 3D and 2D layout of the future cabin. Another issue is

to check if the FAR and JAR requirements are meet by the cabin. Rendering

capabilities in simulating the right texture and materials colors can have also a huge

impact in fixing from this early stage of the customer requirements and assuring that

a smaller number of changes will come in the time of the aircraft development.

Solution

GURUCAD V5 CABIN LAYOUT GENERATION product provides a standardized

tool to create an intelligent 2D and 3D layout directly in CATIA V5. All cabin

components can be integrated in this application and also new components types

can be created.

Automatically position the cabin components (Galleys, Lavatories, Seats,

Hatracks...) in the aircraft, in CATIA V5 - 2D and 3D. Positioning of one componentin the cabin is taking less than 1 second (CATIA V5 2D and 3D) depending on the

size and complexity of the models.

Possibility to customize/extend the application to work with any Cabin Interior

Components. Rendering capabilities can be implemented for components families.

All FAR, JAR requirements concerning cabin components can be integrated in this

application.

An XML file will be generated with all the positions of the cabin components so that

the suppliers working with other CAD systems can use this information and

automatically position their components (GURUCAD provide programming services

for up to 7 CAD systems)

GURUCAD V5 CABIN LAYOUT GENERATION product generate in only few

minutes a complete layout in 2D and 3D. FAR and JAR requirements can be

checked and the cabin can be adapted to meet this requirements. The future aircraft

owner can see from early definition stage how the cabin will look and take important

decisions concerning materials and cabin components arrangement.

The product is running starting with R14 CATIA V5 Release. All further

CATIA V5 Releases will be fully compatible.
