Pastoral Council Nominations

It is that time of year again when we need nominations from the parishes for our Parish Pastoral Councils. The

Council is a group of parishioners that advise, assist and collaborate with Father Ted for the good of the parish and

pastoral staff and serve as a contact for parishioners to make their concerns known, among other things.

Our parish Pastoral Councils consist of members chosen by a selection or election process to serve a term of office

(2 year term at St. Catherine’s, 3 year term at St. Mary’s and 2 year term at St. Thomas’). In a short time there will be

positions to fill. In accordance with provisions of the Council ByLaws, the members of our parishes are called upon to

nominate candidates. Please use the form below. The selection or election will occur at Mass on a date to be announced.

Candidates for membership service should have the following characteristics:

enthusiasm about future positive directions of our parish and its collaboration with the

parishes of our yoke

of three parishes

concern for the parish as a whole as well as for our tri-parish link (or yoke) of parishes

a desire for spiritual growth in oneself and in the parishes

adequate time for and interest in being on the council

a willingness to make a commitment for the term of office

a willingness to listen, to speak honestly, and to work toward consensus

patience with the slow process of discernment and consensus

the ability to inspire and empower others and to delegate

In addition the candidate must be:

a Catholic, in good standing, who is registered and active in the parish

a participant in the sacramental life of the Church

the student member must be entering at least 9

th

grade in the fall and be younger than 18

“”For we must all appear before the

judgement seat of Christ, so that each one

may receive recompense, according to what

he did in the body, whether good or evil.”

2 CORINTHIANS 5:10

We are all accountable for all of the gifts God

has given us-our time, our talent and our

treasure; everything we have and everything

we are. Each of us is accountable not only for

our own life but for the lives of others as well.

One day God will ask each of us what we did

with the gifts we were given. How will you

respond?
