Education Ministry: “REACHING, TEACHING,

and SERVING” to the glory of God!

2019: Intimacy with the Almighty!

I pray that you didn’t miss our wonderful RBC 103rd Anniver-sary Sunday Celebration. Jubilee Sunday was an amazing day in the Lord. Thanks for being faithful and showing your love and support for your church.

TeamKID is going strong and continuing to grow. Spread the word and get those kids involved in Sunday School and Wednesday evening Children’s Ministry. Thanks to everyone who worked hard and came out and supported the ‘Christmas in October’ night that replaced the Fall Festival this year. Every-one had a great time and we received some great gifts for needy families.

Don’t forget the Adult and Youth Bible Study on Wednesdays evenings. They are being well attended. Please take advantage of every opportunity to have you and your children under the teaching and preaching of God’s Word.

If you are not a regular member of an Adult Bible Study Class, please find the one right for you. There is a class that’s devel-oped with you in mind. Invite a neighbor, friend, or family member and come study God’s Word together and get to know each another. Get plugged in and catch the vision.

This month we celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s a great way of showing that you are thankful for God’s Word to us. Studying God’s Word together is a great way of showing that you are thankful. Will you make a choice to be used of God and to be committed to faithfulness in Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening Adult Bible Study / Children’s Sunday School and Worship? We need you—and we all need God’s Word. God bless you. See you Sunday at 9:45 am, and Wednesday at 6:00 pm, as we open the Word of God together.

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, …

(Psalm 103:1-2).

October was a busy month for RCA! Thank you to so many of our teachers,

students and staff for all the hard work they put into Spirit Week. You can check

out some of the pictures of our daily themes on the RCA Facebook page! Not

only did we have a fantastic Spirit Week complete with our TRIBE Pep Rally,

the teachers enjoyed a two day ACE Conference in Houston earlier in the month

where we heard from some great speakers and took home strategies to imple-

ment in the school.

Our first “Christmas in October” was also well received—thank you to all who

came out and supported this event! I especially enjoyed Jubilee Sunday. The

singing, preaching and fellowship were food for my soul. Happy 103rd birthday

to RBC!

This month we finish out the 1st Quarter. Report cards go home on Nov.4 and

then we will already be in the 2nd Quarter of the school year.

This month we look forward to the Thanksgiving holidays, but first, our very

own RCA Choir led by Mrs. Dana Henning will perform at church on Sunday,

November 10, and also during school on Monday, November 11. The kids have

been practicing so hard—I know that it is going to honor all of our Veterans. We

hope you will join us!

Upcoming Dates:

Nov. 1 End of 1st Quarter Nov. 1 Shop Class Begins Nov. 4 2nd Quarter Begins (Report Cards go home) Nov. 8 Scripture Memory Due Nov. 11 RCA Choir Concert at 10:30 am Nov. 26 2 pm Early Release Nov. 27-29 RCA Thanksgiving Holidays (No School)

In His Service, Bro. Curtis

Wow! It’s hard to believe that 2019 is almost over. First of all, thank you to everyone who made Christmas in October a success. What a great night we had. Let me encourage you to bring your child on Wednesday nights. We started learn-ing about missions that are taking place in our state. The first church we learned about was a Cowboy Church in Boerne. We learned how they conducted services. Also, we learned how they are similar to us, and how they are different from us. We will be looking at churches all over state in the weeks to come. I hope to see you there.

Mark your calendar for January 17, 2020. We will have a lock-in for the Preteens age 10 and up. It will begin at 4:00 pm and conclude at 8 am. We have a fun night planned. The cost will be $25.00 to cover our activities and food. Please give me a call if you have any questions.

A special thank you from Lorena, the kids, and I, as you blessed us tremendously in the month of October for Pastor appreciation.

In HIS Grip,

Bro. Curtis

HEART TO HEART

I hope Thanksgiving isn’t just a holiday for you. It should be a way of life for every Christian. We serve an awesome God who sent his Son to die for you and me.

The life of thanksgiving is the truly lived life, fulfilling what it was created to be, and rehearsing what it will do fully and gloriously in eternity. So as you continue to reflect on what you are thankful for this year, remember God’s many blessings in your life!

Have a wonderful and blessed November and Thanksgiving!

With love from my heart ♥️

Ladies Bible Study

We have just completed our study of Lysa Terkeurst’s It’s Not Supposed to be This Way. How refreshing it is to see an author being so very transparent about going through life’s challenges and sharing how God has grown her throughout her time of suffering. I am so grateful for each of the ladies, who are so very faithful to come on a weekly basis to study, share, and hold each other accountable.

With November and December being such busy times for families due to the holiday preparations and participation, we will be taking a two month hiatus from our weekly meetings. We look forward to coming together again in January, when we will again delve into a study written by Lysa Terkeurst.

I pray you ladies will come join our study of 1st and 2nd Kings as we study Trustworthy, Overcoming Our Greatest Struggles to Trust God. Stay tuned for the actual starting date, which will be announced in the next Trumpet.

Until then, I pray each of you has a wonderful Thanksgiving season.

In His Love, Mrs. Chris

It’s crazy to think the holiday season is upon us. I want to give a BIG "THANK YOU!" to all who helped with the "Christmas in October" Toy Drive event. Our goal is to collect as many toys to bless families in need. If you would like to still donate toys, we will continue accepting donations until December 4th.

Last year, the Youth Group donated enough food to bless two families for Thanksgiving, and we would like to do it again this year! For the next couple of weeks, I'd like to encourage students to bring Thanksgiving meal items to bless families of need this season. If any parent would like to deliver the meal packages, please let me know.

On January 19th-20th, we are headed to San Antonio for the SBTC Student Evangelism Conference. This is a fun time where students are trained and encouraged to take the gospel with them everywhere they go and to share their faith. Cost will be $80 plus food, this includes hotel stay. The deadline to sign up is December 13th.

Come grow with us! Be Blessed,

P.S. Staci and I want to thank all of our RBC congregation for the beautiful cards and gifts you blessed us with over Pastor Appreciation Month.

REACHING OUT Has someone been on your heart? If you have a desire to reach out

and stay in touch with those who have relocated, or are shut-in/

nursing home bound, we want to encourage you to please do so.

By the 30th of each month, we will send a care package of your

cards, letters, etc to our members. We have cards available in the

Church Office. Please, feel free to stop by and pick up one. For

more information, please see Loretta Holliday.

We will continue to collect Toy

donations until December 4th.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to stop and ponder what the Lord God has really done for us. What a testimony that the early Colonists came together with their Native American counterparts to join with them in the partaking of the harvest and paying homage to the true God.There is a song that we sing during this Season of Thanks called 'Now Thank We All Our God', and it is fitting at this time that we mention how this song came about.

Martin Rinkart was a prolific hymn writer and Lutheran minister in the city of Eilenburg, Saxony during the Thirty Years' War. In 1636, he wrote the hymn, Nun danket alle Gott, which is, as we know it, 'Now Thank We All Our God'. During that time, the city was overrun by refugees suffering from the hazards of war as well as the horrors of a severe plague, so Rinkart opened his home to many who were seeking merely to survive. Rinkart was the only surviving pastor, conducting as many as 50 funerals a day, includ-ing that of his own wife. He continued his song-writing, and in 1648, his song was widely sung by the time peace was finally realized.

Amazing how this timeless composition has remained through the rigors of time and events, but we know that God's Word goes forth in many forms, and He will sustain his message throughout time, music included! Pray that the music of our time portrays God's Word in a way that would honor Him, and may we continue to be the vessels who facilitate the bringing of that message.

Bless you and yours in this time of giving thanks to our Maker,

KEEP ON SINGING FOR THE LORD!! FROM MARTHA AND THE RBC ADULT SANCTUARY CHOIR.

How to Become A

Christian (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)

Repent (turn away) from your sin

A—ADMIT:

Admit to God that you are a sinner

(Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9)

B—BELIEVE

Believe that Jesus is God’s only Son and

accept God’s forgiveness from sin

(Romans 5:8; Acts 4:12; John 3:16; John

14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13)

C—CONFESS

Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior

and Lord (Romans 10:9-10, and 13)

Is it time for you to become a

Christian? God’s Holy Spirit will help you know

if you are ready to become a Christian.

If it is time, pray a prayer such as the

one below:

Dear God: I know that I have sinned

and that my sin separates me from

You. I am sorry for my sins. I believe

that Jesus died on the cross for me so

that my sin can be forgiven. I believe

Jesus rose from the dead and is alive.

I ask Jesus, to come into my life and to

be my Savior and Lord. I will obey

You and live for You the rest of my

life.

Thank you, Amen!

If you have trusted Jesus to be your

Savior and Lord, you can be sure

that…

1) Your sin is forgiven.

2) You are a Christian.

3) You are a child of God.

4) God will always be with you.

5) You will go to heaven when you

die.

What can you do now?

Tell others that you are a Christian

and that Jesus is your Savior and

Lord.

Attend Church and Bible Study reg-

ularly.

Be baptized to show others that you

have become a Christian.

Read the Bible and pray to God every day.
