The research -rovided the (ollowing (indingsD
*2 The -roductivit# o( 1race enned# limited is ca-ital intensive rather than labour
intensive2 This im-lies that more automation , technolog# are being utilised in the (irm@s
-roductivit#2 The im-lications that this have on the (irm@s -roductivit# is that it will aid in
mitigating mistakes made due to the (act o( em-lo#ing mare technolog# in the

The -roductivit# o( 1race enned# %imited is solel# determined b# market

the high level o( com-etition that the (irm e-eriences it (orces the (irm to reduce

increases its total out-ut in order (or -roduction cost -er unit to decrease2 The -roduction o( 1race enned# %imited contains em-lo#ees which are highl#

+rom the in(ormation gathered it shows that the -rimar# (actor a((ecting -roductivit# is market
demand as stated b# (i(t# -ercent o( the -artici-ants2 Hince market demand is the main (actor
a((ecting -roductivit# it should be closel# observed in order to determine the 8uantit# o( out-ut
that should be -roduced2 According to 'eter Him-son />>79 -roduct with a high demand
usuall# generates high levels o( -roductivit# Cence in tr#ing to meet this demand the (irm will
seek to increase its -roductive ca-abilit# 2 This im-lies that 1race enned# is utilising
-roduction im-roving technologies which motivate em-lo#ees to -roduce more with the given
resource as the manager would be aware that the more -roductive the (irm is the more likel# it
will be able to meet its growing demand2 As stated b# a total o( 4>G o( the res-ondents stated
that market demand will a((ect the -roductivit# o( 1race enned# b# increasing out-ut due to
the total amount o( -ersons demanding their -roducts2 There(ore market demand (orces 1race
enned# %imited to increase their 8uantit# o( out-ut2
+rom the in(ormation gathered (rom the 8uestionnaire a total o( ?>G o( the res-ondents stated
that the main e((ect o( technolog# on the -roductivit# o( 1race enned# %imited is that it
increased the e((icienc# o( the workers2 According to Htim-sons and Hingh />>79 Management
of Business cape unit 2 this im-lies that the -roductivit# o( 1race enned# %imited is (aster
with the a--lication o( more technolog#2 This shows that technolog# used in the -roduction is a
-lus (or an# com-an#2 )ue to the (act that a lot o( technolog# is em-lo#ed in the -roduction
-rocess o( 1race enned# %imited the -roduction -rocess is more s-eed# and e((icient2

goods2 ith re(erence to Htim-sons />>79 the 8uantit# and 8ualit# o( sta(( available will alwa#s
have a great e((ect on the success o( -roductivit#2 This im-licate that workers are skilled in their
area o( work2 This ensures that the 8ualit# o( the out-ut -roduced is o( a high standard2
The consumer demand theor# can be linked to -roductivit# o( 1race enned# in that the
-roductivit# o( 1race enned# is mainl# determined b# market demand or consumer demand2
According to Htim-sons this is a theor# relating to the relationshi- between consumer demand
(or goods and services and their -rices2 )emand theor# (orms the basis (or the demand curve
which relates consumer desire to the amount o( goods available2 As more o( a good or service is
available demand dro-s and there(ore so does the e8uilibrium -rice2
The su--l# theor# is also linked to the -roductivit# o( 1race enned# %imited in that as the
-rices o( their -roducts increase the 8uantit# o( out-ut -roduced is increased2 This is an
economic theor# which states that as -rices increase -roducers are willing to -roduce more2
'revious research carried out b# .hristo-her Tomlinson />>!9 shows that that -roductivit# o(
1race enned# %imited is ca-ital intensive rather than labour intensive2 This means that more
machiner#, technolog# is being used in the (irm@s -roductivit#2 The im-lications that this have on
the (irm@s -roductivit# is that less mistakes are made due to the (act o( em-lo#ing mare
technolog# in the -roduction -rocess and e((icienc# is also obtained2
.onsumers demand is antici-ated and (orecasted b# conducting consumer surve#s in order to
determine the 8uantit# o( out-ut to -roduce2 This is im-ortant as it reduces wastage o( resources2
The -roductivit# o( 1race enned# %imited is in(luenced b# com-etition2 )ue to the high level

+rom the research conducted it can be concluded that the -roductivit# o( 1race enned# %imited
is mainl# determined b# market demand2 It can be said that the 8uantit# o( out-ut -roduced b#
1race enned# %imited is in(luenced b# the bu#ing behaviour o( consumers2
It can be concluded that market demand (orces the com-an# to increase its out-ut2 That is the
total demand o( consumers cause a rise in -roduction (orcing the com-an# to increase the total
8uantit# o( out-ut available (or sale2
It can also be concluded (rom the research conducted that the labour (orce o( 1race enned#
limited is o( high 8ualit# and standard2 This im-lies that the there are a lot o( -ro(essional and
skilled -ersons em-lo#ed in the -roduction -rocess2 This im-act on the -roductivit# o( 1race
enned# %imited in that the goods -roduced is o( ecellent 8ualit#2
Technolog# as a (actor a((ecting -roductivit# increases the e((icienc# o( the workers at 1race
enned# %imited2 )ue to the multi-licit# o( technolog# em-lo#ed and etensive -roduction o(
1race enned# %imited workers are better able to o-erate e((icientl# and s-eedil#2 This results in
more out-ut -er worker being -roduced2

A(ter anal#sing the (indings (rom the research conducting the (ollowing were recommendedD
The researcher recommends that 1race enned# %imited use market demand in order to
determine the total 8uantit# o( out-ut to -roduce2 As identi(ied in the (indings the
res-ondents stated that market demand is the main (actor a((ecting the (irm@s -roductivit#
and there(ore should be closel# looked at2 The researcher recommends that 1race
enned# %imited conduct consumer surve#s in order to identi(# the total market demand
and the total 8uantit# o( out-ut to -roduce2
Hince market demand increases out-ut the researcher recommends that 1race enned#
%imited antici-ates market demand b# -utting the necessar# resources in -lace to
com-lete the -roduction -rocess2 This is em-lo#ing ade8uate amount o( labour
technolog# raw materials and managerial skills2 Once these have been -ut in -lace the
com-an# is better able to e((ectivel# su--l# consumers with amount demanded2
The researcher recommends that 1race enned# %imited increases the amount o(
technolog# em-lo#ed in the -roduction -rocess since technolog# increases the e((icienc#
o( workers2 ork will be done more e((ectivel# and e((icientl#2 And the total out-ut o( the
com-an# will increase due to the level o( technolog# em-lo#ed2
Hince the 8ualit# o( labour at 1race enned# %imited results in ecellent 8ualit# o( goods
being -roduced the researcher recommends that management em-lo#s highl# 8uali(ied
and skilled -ersonnel in the -roduction -rocess to ensure ecellent 8ualit# o( goods2 This
results in less (ault# -roducts and undesirable 8ualit#2
