PAC and IPAC – “Reminder”

North America (NA) will host an xPAC conference every 18 months: continuing the co-sponsoring by APS-DPB and IEEE-NPSS. IPACs in the Spring (’12, ’15, ’18, etc.) and NA-PACs (’13, ’16, ’19, etc.) in the Fall.

There will be an IPAC conference every year in the Spring, rotating in the order: Asia, Europe, NA (’12), Asia, Europe, NA (’15), etc.

We (APS or IEEE) don’t sponsor or technical co-sponsor (yet) IPACs held outside NA. Issue still being worked. Looking better – started the action for Asia with Asian contacts!

PAST Update

PAST 2012/07/07 Stan Schriber

Update to PAC OC Bylaws approved – doesn’t affect MOU. Rationale – PAC OC has two subcommittees reporting to it –for IPAC OC and for NA-PAC OC.

Interesting aspect – very conservative group re changes!

Working on IPAC MOU for 3 regions. International group working to set up new commission

for Accelerator Physics in IUPAP. Working MOU with Asia for IEEE Technical Co-

sponsorship. Working on web site for PAC OC on PAST page.
