This Test will comprise of various section as given below:

The number of questions may vary in each section year to year

1. Quantitative Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the quantitative ability of the candidates. The sub test consists of questions on Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work & Task, Ratio & Proportion and Distance.

2. Communication Ability: This sub-test is aimed at testing the language ability of the candidates in day to day communication in English. It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one word substitutes, idioms & phrases, correct spellings, etc.

3. English Comprehension: This sub-test is to test one's ability to comprehend a situation from a given passage & test of basic English language.

4. Analytical Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the candidate's inference & logic from the given information.

5. General Knowledge & Current Affairs: This sub-test is designed to test the candidate's general knowledge & current affairs.

7. Design Aptitude Test (DAT)

The Design Aptitude Tests will be conducted in two stages:

Stages 1 : Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims

Stages 2 : Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Mains

7.1 Important Data:

DAT (Prelims) For Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) And Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) will be conducted form:1000 hrs. to 1300 hrs. on Sunday, 07 january 2018.

7.2 About DAT Prelims:

The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims primarily evaluates each candidate on the following abilities:

The DAT Aptitude Test (Prelims) consists of an examination for three hours duration and will be marked out of 100 points. This is a pen- and-paper test conducted at the same time on the same day across all test centers.

The DAT Prelims consists of two parts:

Patr I: Multiple- choice question marked out of 70 points. This part has question withOne or more than one correct answer. The responses of this part will be recorded on an OMR sheet and evaluated digitally.

The question paper is in English.All question are compulsory.There is no negative marking

Based on the DAT Prelims scores, separate merit lists shall be prepared for each Category (OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST & PwD). Only shortlisted candidates will be eligible to Appear for DAT Mains exam as per the schedule announced

Separate merit list will be prepared for Overseas candidates.

Part II: Subjective question marked out of 30 points, with responses to be provided in Visual and/ or written formats.

SITUATION TEST

Shortlisted Candidates for B.Des from the written entrance examination are required to undergo a Situation Test which is a hands-on test to evaluate the candidate's skills for material handling & innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials.

GROUP DISCUSSIONS

Shortlisted Candidates for Masters Programs from the written entrance examination are required to undergo Case Study based Group Discussions (GD) & Personal Interview ( PI ). GD would comprise of approximately 15 to 20 minutes of discussion on a case study assigned on which a panel of experts will assess the candidates on various parameters including:
