Credential Authentication Technology (CAT)

8

CAT validates passenger self-reported biographic information and vetting status via connection back to Secure Flight, and authenticates government-issued identification (ID) for the detection of fraudulent or expired IDs.

CAT Testing Airport Locations and Start Dates

Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Units

• 17 CAT LRIP units purchased (April 2014 – May 2015)• 30 additional CAT LRIP units purchased (May 2017)

Developmental Testing (DT)

• Testing will be conducted at multiple locations• Focus will be on system performance and SOP development

CT utilizes 3D-imaging and detection software to help operators automatically identify threats and eliminate the need for divestiture of electronics for carry-on passenger baggage screening. PSP will be testing CT against AT-2 requirements.

• TSIF Testing (AT-2 Requirements)FY17

• Purchase of two (2) test units (tentative)• Operational Testing (location TBD)

o OT standalone configurations; no ASL integration

FY18

• Purchase of CT units in support of airport growth operationsFY18-19
