As the summer winds down and fall begins, I always think of when my boys were younger and headed back to school. Keeping them healthy during the school year was always a concern as the cold and flu season ran rampant through the winter months. We were blessed to have been in the AIM family from day one and had all the tools available to combat these illnesses and keep the sick days to a minimum. Now, I won’t say it was easy to get our young boys to enjoy a nice glass of barley, but after some time and their noticing that they were rarely ill, they soon came to believe that barley was a life force that they had to have to keep them on top of their game.

With this in mind, it is so critical at this time that we provide our young ones with the nutritional support and knowledge that will keep them healthy throughout their lives. When I read that the current generation of children has a lower life expectancy than their parents, I am shocked and saddened that this could even be so. Lifestyle diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and obesity are taking their toll on not only our children but also the future of our society as a whole. As members of the AIM family, we all know that this does not have to be. We have to persist in spreading the word that nutrition does work and continue to build a generation that is not dependent on our health care system to fix all our troubles.

It may not be easy, but it will be well worth it.

Radio Program

On Thursday, July 7, AIM Chairman’s Club Directors Teresa Schumacher and Toni Lund appeared on “Aging Outside the Box® Syndicated Radio Show” to present their story and the health benefits of AIM Herbal Fiberblend®. During the program, Toni read testimonies on the powerful effects of colon cleansing, and Teresa shared her life story and how she came to be a pioneer in fiber nutrition. Listeners were treated to a wealth of nutrition information and first-hand experience about the right ways to live well.

Here is a fun idea from Amy’s winning entry.After watching a DVD of the 2009 movie Julie and

Julia, a lightbulb went on in my head to use the idea of blogging for my AIM Business. When the new MyAIMStore web sites were introduced I was thrilled that they included the option to blog. I actually find myself teaching my downline to do this more than I have the chance to do it myself. I encourage AIM members to get familiar with the blog option on their MyAIMStore web site and learn how to get started blogging.

In the movie Julie and Julia, Julie Powell aspires to cook 524 recipes from a Julia Child’s cookbook in 365 days. Julie would make a recipe and blog about how she prepared the dish and whether or not it turned out well. Every night she had something new to say, sometimes trials and sometimes triumphs. As time went by, she noticed that there were people following her blog posts. They would check her blog daily and sometimes leave her comments. This seems so simple and fun, so why not try something similar? For example, get a new recipe book and try to create a new healthy recipe for your family every night. Maybe a smoothie recipe book could help you blog about a new way to make Herbal Fiberblend taste great. When you blog a recipe don’t forget to give credits to the author. Include any mishaps or changes you make and let your readers know how it turned out and if everyone enjoyed it.
