2. MATERIAL HANDLING & SITE LOGISTICS

At Brandon Hire we understand Modern Methods of Construction and the challenges posed by emerging technologies in construction. We recognise that new ways of working often require innovative tools and equipment and the development of bespoke solutions that enhance productivity and eliminate risk. By example, our specialist division, Brandon Lifting have worked closely with leading companies within the M&E sector to develop pioneering solutions to support the installation of modular prefabricated pipe work on major projects.

3. HAND ARM VIBRATION

Successfully managing Hand Arm Vibration requires the support of a tool and equipment hirer who understands the way you work and is able to provide a range of practicable, common sense and innovative solutions. We meet this challenge through our combination of a ‘Buy-Smooth’ procurement policy, our independently tested exposure data based on real working applications that enable accurate risk assessments, a nationwide network of highly trained HAV champions and the latest technology in HAV’s management including The Havi and Reactec systems.

4. NOISE

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 requires the assessment of the risk to employees and the reduction in noise exposure from the causes of risk. Consequently, companies must now quantify the noise control options rather than simply repeating risk assessments that usually include little or no useful or practical information on the topic. PPE can no longer be used for long term risk management unless it can be proved that noise control is impractical. To support you in meeting your obligations, Brandon Hire maintain a ‘Low-Noise’ tool and equipment procurement policy. We also provide independently tested field noise data for accurate risk assessment, advice on PPE and a range of tailor-made training courses.

5. DUST

An estimated 500 construction workers die each year through exposure to silica dust and thousands suffer from debilitating ill-health, even though The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations require employers to control exposure

to silica. Dust generated from construction activities can also impact on the wider scale, with those living and working nearby also at risk.
