Why Support Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels?

• Because every meal reminds a homebound neighbor they are not alone.

• You may never give your next meal a second thought, but that is not true for Meals on Wheels clients. Without the meals delivered by Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels, hundreds of local seniors and homebound neighbors would be left wondering where and how they would get their next meal.

• Every meal delivery doubles as a wellness check.

• Along with food and a friendly smile, YMOW provides homebound neighbors with pet supplies, handyman services, fresh produce, emergency meals, a free personal care pantry, and more services as needed.

• Government funding covers only about 30 percent of the costs to provide these services. The rest is left to us, and generous supporters like you.

What does your support provide?

• $100 provides an elderly couple with weekend meals for more than a month.

• $500 provides 54 seniors with an entire weekend of meals.

• $1,000 fuels one of our delivery vehicles for 9 months.

• $2,500 provides meals for a local senior for an entire year.

• $5,000 provides a year’s worth of fuel for our delivery vehicles.

Help us close the funding gap!• Donate a percentage of sales for a day, week or longer.

• Ask customers to round up their purchase for YMOW.

• Engage your employees in a dress-down day, sack lunch day or other event. We will help you come up with a fun and engaging idea!

• Sponsor one of our fundraising events, such as Meals on Heels or the Holiday Home Tour.

• Hold an event of your own to raise money for YMOW.

• Sponsor a Meal! Your company’s logo and message will accompany each meal delivered on your sponsored day. n $1,000 sponsors a hot meal for the day n $500 sponsors a cold meal for the day n $1,500 sponsors both meals for the day n $750 sponsors a full weekend of meals n $300 sponsors a route for a day

• Match employee donations.

• Collect items for our Personal Care Pantry (toiletries, adult diapers, etc.).
