Manual Steps Slow Down the Workflow

Editors who work on projects in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and who use Telestream Vantage need to send media from their projects into Vantage for additional processing and transcoding.

The manual process requires the editor to: export individual media from the Premiere Pro export menu, select manual settings, and then select a Vantage watch folder for the submission. Editors can also submit metadata labels along with the media, which Vantage can use later in downstream processing.

Without an automated solution, editors who use both Vantage and Adobe Premiere Pro CC are confronted with a situation where they’re required to take time to manually move between the two applications. There is a “break” in the workflow when the editor moves from Premiere Pro to Vantage, and an increased possibility of errors occuring.

Vantage Panel for Premiere Pro Speeds Up the Workflow

Direct integration between Vantage and Adobe Premiere Pro CC creates significant workflow efficien-cies for editors wishing to use Vantage’s sophisticated video processing capabilities direct from Adobe’s award-winning non-linear editor. The free panel allows job submission to Telestream’s software-enabled media processing platform direct from the Adobe Premiere Pro UI. This seamless integration provides secure, reliable, bi-directional high-speed transfer of media and metadata files ingested, processed and delivered through any Vantage workflow. Editors can track the progress of any encoding job on the Vantage server through the main Premiere Pro user interface.

The Vantage Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro is an add-on panel that can be added to the Premiere Pro UI to send a project directly to Vantage from within the Premiere Pro application.

The Vantage panel allows you to:

• Submit a sequence, clip, timeline directly to your Vantage system

• Select the workflow to which to submit the job

• Add variables to the job submission

Requirements

To use the panel, an active Vantage system is required along with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 (or later). Certain parameters, such as the Vantage domain, need to be set up in advance. As part of the setup for the panel, the Vantage administrator can update a configu-ration file so that the editors do not have to fill in any information for the panel. Once the configuration file is updated, the Vantage Domain will be populated and any particular workflows will be available for the editor to choose.

Once all the parameters are set, you can select the appropriate workflow. Clicking the submit button will then take your job and export it, flattening the file. The file then is submitted to Vantage. You can view the status of your job via a web browser at http://[host-name]/Vantage/ — if this is part of your Vantage configuration.

Conclusion

Ease of use is the key. Editors can be more efficient by doing everything from within their editing tools – not having to worry about workflows in Vantage to which they need to submit media, and to be able to add metadata, like labels from one submission action. The Vantage panel within Adobe Premiere Pro CC reduces overall editing time, and minimizes the chances of operator errors. The panel is designed to offer Adobe Premiere Pro CC editors direct access to the Vantage media processing platform for speed and efficiency.
