the horses for hay harvest. Dr. Ed Rayburn, WVU Extension
Forage Agronomist, will be the main speaker at the pasture
walk. The main theme will be rotational grazing and managing
on farm nutrients in a profitable manner.

What is a Grazing Network?
The Mt. Top Grazing Network is a way for producers
from counties with similar geography in three states to
come together to share ideas and methods about grazing
livestock. The major activity of the network will be to
host a series of pasture walks. The pasture walks will
allow producers to step onto farms of other producers to
allow them to see first hand how other producers manage
grazing operations. Each farm selected for the pasture
walk has a unique feature that the farm will highlight dur-
ing the pasture walk. Personnel from Cooperative Exten-
sion, Natural Resource Conservation Service and Soil
Conservation Districts will be on hand interact with par-
ticipants at the pasture walks.
The 2009 Pasture Walk Series was developed and
planned by Cooperative Extension and Natural Resource
and Conservation Service personnel. Future activities of
the Mt. Top Grazing Network will be guided and planned
by producers with government agency personnel serving
as advisors. Being involved in the Mt. Top Grazing Net-
work will help you improve you pasture productivity,
reduce the learning curve of many grazing related chal-
lenges, and improve profitability. Get involved today in
the network by attending the pasture walks. You can
attend selected workshops however we encourage you to
attend as many as possible to get the complete benefit of
the network.
How to Get Involved?
Anyone is welcome to attend the pasture walks listed
in this brochure. If you need directions or have questions
please contact the Extension Office nearest to you. The
local extension offices involved in this project are listed on
