Not sure how much to contribute?

Your Plan HighlightsConsider these important facts about your plan.

Employee ContributionYou may contribute to your plan account through convenient payroll deductions. You may elect to make pre-tax and Roth after-tax 401(k) contributions. Your combined pre-tax and Roth after-tax 401(k) contributions may not exceed 50% of your pay.

In 2018, you can save up to $18,500. If you will be age 50 or older during the calendar year, you may be able to save up to an additional $6,000 starting at the beginning of (or any time during) that calendar year.

Employer ContributionTo help your savings grow even faster, your employer matches your contributions. Your employer will match $1 for each $1 you save up to the first 4% you contribute, and 50¢ for each $1 on the next 2% of pay you contribute.

Your employer may make discretionary profit-sharing contributions to eligible employees under the terms of your plan. The amount may vary from year to year and for some years a profit-sharing contribution may not be made.

You must be employed on the last day of your plan year and have completed 1,000 hours of service to qualify for a profit sharing contribution.

VestingThe term “vesting” refers to ownership of the money contributed to your retirement account. You are always 100% vested in the money you contribute, including any rollover or transfer contributions you have made and any matching contributions made by your employer plus any earnings on that money.

Any profit sharing contributions made to your account by Mason Companies are vested according to the following schedule:Years of Credited Service* Vested Percentage

Not surehow to invest?

Your Investment OptionsThe plan offers the following approaches to investing. For more information about your investments visit the Investments tab on MillimanBenefits.com.

Let Professionals Do It For Youn InvestMap. InvestMap uses your current age along with your complete life span to chart a long-term

investment strategy called a glide path. With annual reallocations according to the glide path, your portfolio gradually becomes more conservative so you take on less and less investment risk. At younger ages, the reallocation adjustments will be slight (and may not occur every year); they will become greater as your age increases.

n Target Date Retirement Funds. Target Retirement Funds are designed to take the confusion out ofinvesting. They provide diversified investment mixes that are appropriate for different target retirement dates. These funds change investments over time, becoming more conservative as you near your retirement date.

Do It Yourselfn Custom Investment Portfolio. You design your own asset allocation. You may choose to invest in

any combination of the plan’s investment options, which represent a broad range of risk and return characteristics within various asset classes.

Francis Investment CounselFor advice related to your asset allocation, please call Francis Investment Counsel at 1.866.232.6457 or visit them online at francisinvco.com. Experienced advisors are available to assist you with any retirement planning matter.

NOTE: You are responsible for making investment decisions for your account. The plan is intended to comply with ERISA Section 404(c), which generally relieves the plan sponsor of liability for gains and losses to participant-directed accounts.

Mason Companies Retirement and Savings Plan

Required Annual Notices for Plan Year beginning 2018Qualified Default Investment Alternative (QDIA) Notice

This annual notice advises you of certain rights and obligations you have under your Retirement Plan. This notice only applies to those who have not made an alternative election.

Qualified Default Investment AlternativeYou have the right to direct the investment/default investments of your account in any of the investment choices offered. This includes elective deferrals and also matching and non-elective (company contribution accounts) in any of the investment choices available. If you do not choose an investment election for your contributions in the retirement plan, your account will automatically be invested in the Vanguard Target Date Fund based on your age, as described below.

Investment ObjectiveEach Target Date Fund is comprised of underlying mutual funds (diversified stock funds and bond funds) designed to manage risk and designed to maximize performance. Additionally, each Target Date Fund adjusts its risk and return appropriately to match your approaching retirement date.

Risk and Return CharacteristicsThe risk associated with each Target Date Fund will be commensurate with the higher risk associated with stock investing. While moderate risk is expected, each portfolio can experience periods of extreme volatility during stock market downturns. Over the long term, portfolios with more stock investments carry relatively more risk but offer higher potential returns. There is no assurance or guarantee the default funds will achieve their stated objective.

Fees and ExpensesTotal operating expenses are a combination of each of the underlying investments that make up this default allocation. The weighted average annual operating expenses of the funds are shown.

Right to Alternative InvestmentEven if the plan trustee invests some or all of your contributions in the default investment, you have the continuing right to direct the investment of your contributions in one or more of the other investment choices available to you anytime.

For Further Investment InformationYou can view the available investment options and confirm your investment instructions by logging into MillimanBenefits.com or by phone at 1.866.767.1212.
