Willy Chiu Vice President, Cloud LabsIBM Corporation

Dr. Willy Chiu is Vice President of Cloud Labs for the IBM Corporation. Since 2007, Dr. Chiu has led a worldwide team driving IBM’s cloud computing initiative. To date, the company has launched nine centers around the world, to help clients design and implement cloud computing solutions.

Dr. Chiu and his team have deployed cloud computing solutions for many high-profile clients, including joint major academic initiatives with Google, the first commercial cloud computing center for software companies in China, and Web 2.0 innovation events running on clouds.

Dr. Chiu previously led a team of Web performance and scalability experts and before that, he created several new business areas for IBM, including IBM’s first “digital library” content management project for some of the world’s most prized collections, including those at the Vatican Library. He joined IBM as a research staff member at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center.

Henry ChowChairman, Greater China GroupIBM Corporation

Henry Chow is Chairman of the Greater China Group, responsible for IBM’s operations in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan and a work force of more than 8,000 professionals. He has held this post since 2007, previously serving as General Manager of the Greater China Group.

Prior to that, Mr. Chow held positions as general manager of IBM China Company Limited; general manager of the PC Company for Asia Pacific South, overseeing IBM’s personal computer business throughout the region, excluding Japan; and assistant managing director of Services for IBM Australia. He was also general manager of IBM Taiwan, and director of Operations for IBM Hong Kong with responsibility for all marketing and administrative operations. Mr. Chow joined IBM in 1968 as a programmer trainee.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from The University of Hong Kong.

Erich Clementi is Vice President of Strategy and General Manager of Enterprise Initiatives for IBM Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for identifying major opportunities for the company and driving integration across IBM’s businesses.

Previously, Mr. Clementi was general manager of the Business Systems Division in the Systems and Technology Group. He was also general manager of IBM’s Managed Business Process Services, serving clients who run their business processes through a worldwide network of IBM global delivery centers.

Michael E. Daniels Senior Vice President, Global Technology ServicesIBM Corporation

Mike Daniels is the Senior Vice President of IBM Global Technology Services, with worldwide responsibility for business operations in outsourcing services, integrated technology services, maintenance, and small and medium business services, as well as for IBM Global Financing. He is also responsible for IBM’s global delivery services. Together, these businesses account for almost half of IBM’s revenue.

Previously, Mr. Daniels was general manager of IBM’s Sales and Distribution operations in the United States, Canada and Latin America. Prior to that, he led the Global Services team in the Asia-Pacific region.

Since joining IBM in 1976, Mr. Daniels has held a number of leadership positions in sales, marketing and services, and was general manager of several services businesses, including Product Support Services, Availability Services and Systems Solutions.

Dr. Dietrich leads a worldwide organization that performs research in mathematical sciences and deploys industry applications of computational mathematics for IBM and its clients.

Her research includes manufacturing scheduling, services resource management, energy management, transportation logistics, integer programming and combinatorial duality. Dr. Dietrich holds more than a dozen patents, has co-authored numerous publications, and co-edited the book Mathematics of the Internet: E-Auction and Markets.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from The University of North Carolina and a Master of Science and doctorate in operations research and information engineering from Cornell University.

Before joining Deutsche Bank in 1998, Mr. Gaertner held several positions with Commerzbank, where he managed IT architecture and applications for foreign entities. He was also responsible for the rollout of a uniform back-end system for 15 branches in the United States, Asia and Europe.

Mr. Gaertner earned a combined degree in business administration and computer sciences from the University of Karlsruhe.

Mark Hennessy is Vice President and Chief Information Officer for IBM. He assumed this role in July 2007 and is responsible for leading technology operations and strategic business initiatives.

During his tenure at IBM, Mr. Hennessy has held a diverse series of sales, marketing and general management positions. Before his current post, he was general manager, Global Distribution Sector, where he was responsible for IBM’s sales, strategy, marketing and solutions in the retail, consumer packaged goods, travel and transportation industries.

From 2001 to 2004 he was vice president, Distribution Channels Management. In 1999, he became vice president, Systems Sales, Asia Pacific, responsible for the sale of IBM’s servers, storage, networking and printer products throughout 22 countries in Asia. Mr. Hennessy joined IBM in 1981 as a client representative. He held various management posts with increasing responsibility until 1996 when he was promoted to vice president, Midwestern Area Operations.

A graduate of Boston College, Mr. Hennessy earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1980. In 1990, he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Jeff Jonas is Chief Scientist for IBM Entity Analytic Solutions and an IBM Distinguished Engineer. Mr. Jonas designs next-generation technology to help organizations better leverage their enterprise-wide information assets, to make them smarter, more efficient and highly competitive.

IBM Entity Analytic Solutions was formed based on technologies developed by Systems Research & Development, which Mr. Jonas founded in 1984. IBM acquired the firm in 2005.

Mr. Jonas’ innovations have received coverage in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and Fortune and have been featured on the Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel and MSNBC. Frank Kern Senior Vice President, Global Business Services IBM Corporation

Frank Kern is Senior Vice President for IBM Global Business Services, which encompasses IBM’s consulting, systems integration and applications businesses, with $19.6 billion in revenue in 2008 and a work force of more than 100,000 professionals worldwide.

Mr. Kern was named to this position in January 2009 after leading IBM’s Global Sales and Distribution organization, where he was responsible for revenue, profit and client satisfaction in the 170 global markets in which IBM does business.

Prior to that, Mr. Kern led IBM’s operations in Asia Pacific.

His 30-year career with IBM has spanned numerous international management roles, including the development of IBM’s services business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Kern held the position of chief executive officer of IBM Global Services Australia Limited, a joint venture with Lend Lease and Telstra, from 1995 through 1997. From 1992 through 1995, he was vice president of Systems Solutions and Industries, in Integrated Systems Solutions Corporation, an IBM services subsidiary.

Harvey KoeppelExecutive DirectorCenter for CIO Leadership

Harvey Koeppel is Executive Director of the Center for CIO Leadership, a membership-based organization aimed at advancing the profession. In this capacity, Mr. Koeppel sets the Center’s strategy and directs internal and external operations. He is also Chairman of the Center’s Advisory Committee.

From 2004 through 2007, Mr. Koeppel was chief information officer and senior vice president of Citigroup’s Global Consumer Group. Prior to taking on that role, Mr. Koeppel provided consulting services to CitiFinancial, Citibank and other Citi affiliates. He was involved in supporting the planning and integration of many of Citi’s major acquisitions, including Travelers Insurance, Associates First Capital Corporation, European American Bank and Golden State Bank.

Mr. Koeppel has a record of IT innovation in the financial services industry, designing the first graphical user interface for NASDAQ’s Workstation Trader, and also FxNet, software designed to help large financial institutions manage settlement risk.

Vikas Krishna is Senior Manager for Process Innovation at the IBM Almaden Research Center. He leads a team of service researchers and engineers focused on solutions and systems for IBM’s Global Services business to increase personnel productivity.

Since joining IBM in 1997, Mr. Krishna has led the design and development of systems for net mining, Web-based service delivery, business-to-business information exchange, integrated analysis of text and data, managed business processes services and next-generation contact centers. He holds several patents in these areas.

Mr. Krishna received a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, a Master of Engineering from Memorial University, and a Master of Science from Syracuse University.

Daniel LaiHead, Information TechnologyMTR Corporation Limited

Daniel Lai is the Head of Information Technology for MTR Corporation Limited. He is responsible for providing strategic direction on IT at MTR, a key provider of public transportation in Hong Kong.

With 40 years of experience in information technology, Mr. Lai has led many innovative and large-scale projects in Hong Kong and Australia, including the IT integration for the recent merger between MTR and Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation.

Prior to joining MTR, Mr. Lai held senior IT management positions with The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and also served in positions in public service and educational institutions, including adjunct professor at the Guilin University of Electronic Technology and the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Mr. Lai is a graduate of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with a degree in computing and management studies and holds a Master of Science in technology management from Griffith University.

Joe LocandroDirector, Group Information Technology CLP Group

Joe Locandro is Director of Group Information Technology for CLP Group, one of the largest investor-owned businesses in the Asia-Pacific electric power sector. Mr. Locandro is responsible for the formulation and execution of CLP Group’s IT strategy, with focus areas that include systems development, policy formulation, IT infrastructure, and the development of initiatives that are critical to enhancing overall performance.

He joined CLP Group in 2004. Before that, he was chief information officer for Yallourn Energy–AusPower Pty Ltd in Australia. He has also held a variety of CIO positions in various industry sectors from energy to entertainment.

Mr. Locandro holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and commerce from Melbourne University and a Master of Arts in marketing from Monash University.

Jianhao (Paul) LuChief Executive OfficerWuxi Lake Tai, Cloud Computing Platform Service Ltd

Paul Lu is Chief Executive Officer of Wuxi Lake Tai, Cloud Computing Platform Service Ltd, the first cloud computing center for software companies in China. He is also Director of the Sun Open Source Innovation Center–Wuxi, a nonprofit, government-sponsored organization dedicated to China’s open source movement.

Previously, Mr. Lu was head of Information Technology for Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and the senior software engineer for BancTec, Inc., in their United States divisions. He began his career in 1987, as an engineer in the Wuxi City Radio Factory, in China.

Mr. Lu graduated from Zhejiang University in 1987 and earned a Master of Science in computer science from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Agnès MauffreyGroup Chief Information OfficerMichelin

Agnès Mauffrey is Group Chief Information Officer for Michelin. Before joining Michelin in 2008, she was director of Infrastructure Services at EDS in France, Spain and Portugal.

Previously, Ms. Mauffrey held various positions at Capgemini, including technical director, infrastructure director in the outsourcing division, and vice director of the Schneider account in Europe. She has also worked for a number of French telecommunications companies, including Cegetel, SFR and France Telecom.

Emilie McCabeGeneral Manager, Sales, Global Technology ServicesIBM Corporation

Emilie McCabe is General Manager of Sales for IBM Global Technology Services. In this role, Ms. McCabe is responsible for defining the Global Technology Services sales and business development models and for driving execution to clients globally.

Ms. McCabe was previously the general manager of IBM’s Global Public Sector, responsible for setting the strategy, direction and sales execution of information technology solutions and capabilities for government, education, health care and life sciences clients worldwide.

Before moving to her Global Public Sector position, she was vice president of worldwide sales for IBM’s Systems and Technology Group, representing all of IBM’s hardware offerings. Prior to this, Ms. McCabe led hardware sales for the United States, Canada and Latin America. She also held a number of executive positions in IBM’s Software Group, including vice president of worldwide sales for the WebSphere portfolio, vice president of marketing for application development software, and vice president of worldwide software sales operations.

Ms. McCabe holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jai MenonDirector, Technology and Customer Service, Bharti Airtel Limited andGroup Chief Information Officer, Bharti Enterprises

Dr. Jai Menon is Director of Technology and Customer Service at Bharti Airtel Limited and Group Chief Information Officer for Bharti Enterprises.

At Bharti Airtel Limited, Dr. Menon is responsible for building strategic technology platforms and innovation alliances with Google, Microsoft, Apple, Research in Motion (BlackBerry) and VeriSign, among other firms. As Group CIO for Bharti Enterprises, he provides information technology leadership for the retail, financial services, manufacturing and distribution, agriculture, software, tower infrastructure and resourcing businesses, as well as for the Bharti Foundation.

Dr. Menon joined Bharti in August 2002 as corporate director. In 2004, he launched Bharti Airtel Limited’s Enterprise Business as its joint president. Before joining Bharti, he was corporate officer and executive vice president at AT&T, and also served as chief technology officer. Dr. Menon started his career at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center and rose to become executive director of IBM’s Software Group.

Dr. Menon received his Master of Science and doctorate from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He has completed executive management programs at Harvard University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Samuel J. PalmisanoChairman, President and Chief Executive OfficerIBM Corporation

Sam Palmisano is the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the IBM Corporation. Mr. Palmisano was appointed to this position on January 6, 2003. Previously, he served as president and chief operating officer.

He began his career in 1973 in Baltimore, Maryland. Since then, Mr. Palmisano has held a series of leadership positions during his IBM career, including senior vice president for the Enterprise Systems and Personal Systems groups. Mr. Palmisano also played a key role in creating and leading IBM’s Global Services, rising to senior vice president, and building the largest and most diversified information technology services organization in the industry. He also served as senior managing director of operations for IBM Japan.

Mr. Palmisano is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University. In recognition of his leadership role as co-chair of the Council on Competitiveness’ National Innovation Initiative, as well as his many business accomplishments, Mr. Palmisano was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in September 2005. In July 2006, he was awarded an honorary fellowship from the London Business School.

Ginni Rometty is Senior Vice President for IBM’s Global Sales and Distribution organization, responsible for revenue, profit and client satisfaction in the 170 global markets in which IBM does business. Ms. Rometty held other positions in IBM’s services business including general manager of IBM Global Services for the Americas, where she led a team of more than 75,000 professionals and was responsible for strategic leadership, operations and client relationships. Ms. Rometty also served as the general manager of strategy, marketing and sales operations for IBM Global Services worldwide.

Before joining IBM’s services business, Ms. Rometty was general manager of IBM’s Global Insurance and Financial Services Sector. She also supervised the operations of IBM’s Insurance Research Centers in Hawthorne, N.Y.; Zurich, Switzerland; and Yamato, Japan, and was in charge of IBM’s insurance solutions development worldwide. Prior to joining IBM, Ms. Rometty was with General Motors Corporation.

She holds a Bachelor of Science with high honors in computer science and electrical engineering from Northwestern University.

Robert E. RosierFounder and Group Chief Executive OfficeriTricity and GlidePath

Robert Rosier is Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of iTricity and GlidePath, firms that provide hosting services to a variety of industries, and also continuously monitor and manage business-critical information technology environments for their clients to guarantee the continuity of their businesses. iTricity is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GlidePath.

Before founding GlidePath, Mr. Rosier was vice president of Operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Exodus Communications, managing 12 Internet data centers in France, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands. Prior to that, he was managing director of the Benelux region for Perot Systems Corporation, and a consultancy manager at Ingres Corporation.

Mr. Rosier has a degree in computer sciences and business management.

Steven L. SamsVice President, Site and Facilities Services, Global Technology ServicesIBM Corporation

Steven Sams is Vice President of Site and Facilities Services for IBM Global Technology Services. He is responsible for a worldwide organization dedicated to helping clients identify their needs, capabilities and best options for data centers and other specialized facilities like green buildings and clean rooms.

Prior to that, Mr. Sams was vice president of Corporate Strategy, where he was responsible for the identification and development of key profitable growth opportunities across IBM. He was also vice president of Strategy for Server Group; vice president of the Intel-based Netfinity server business in the Americas; director of IBM Sales Incentive Strategy; director of Business Strategy for IBM Canada; and assistant general manager for IBM Canada Leasing.

Mr. Sams holds a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Manoj SaxenaVice President, Global Solutions and Assets, Global Business ServicesIBM Corporation

Manoj Saxena is Vice President of Global Solutions and Assets for IBM Global Business Services. In this role, he oversees the design and delivery of all service-oriented architecture and asset-based industry and service line offerings, worldwide.

Mr. Saxena joined IBM in 2006, through IBM’s acquisition of Webify Solutions— a company he founded in 2002 and led as its chairman, president and chief executive officer.

He successfully founded, managed and sold two venture-backed software companies, Exterprise and Webify, within a five-year span. Previously, he was with 3M Company.

Mr. Saxena holds a Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in management studies from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani.

Nina M. SchwenkChair, Information Technology CommitteeMayo Clinic

Dr. Nina Schwenk is the Chair of the Information Technology Committee at Mayo Clinic. She is also a consultant in the Division of General Internal Medicine there, as well as Vice President of the Board of Trustees and Vice President of Integration. In addition, she is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Medical School.

Dr. Schwenk received her undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Doctor of Medicine from the McGill University medical school. She completed her residency and fellowship training in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic.

Richard WilliamsVice President and Group Chief Information OfficerAstraZeneca

Richard Williams is Vice President and Group Chief Information Officer for AstraZeneca, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. He is responsible for information services strategy and operations, including company-wide application development, information management, technology infrastructure and telecommunication networks.

Mr. Williams joined the company in 1992, as one of the founding members of Astra Merck Inc., a new joint venture. Before the AstraZeneca merger, he was responsible for information systems for Astra Pharmaceuticals and in 1999 was appointed vice president of Commercial Information Systems for the United States, the company’s largest market. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, an international audit and consulting firm.

Mr. Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Temple University and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University.

Peter WilliamsonProfessor of International Management, Judge Business SchoolUniversity of Cambridge

Peter Williamson is Professor of International Management at the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge.

Professor Williamson’s business career began in banking with Merrill Lynch in London, Singapore and New York, followed by four years with The Boston Consulting Group. He then joined the London Business School where he taught strategic management and became dean of Master of Business Administration Programmes in 1990. Later, Professor Williamson was appointed visiting professor of Global Strategy and Management at the Harvard Business School.

Professor Williamson has been a consultant on business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and international expansion to companies, governments and international organizations throughout the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and North America.

His latest book, Dragons at Your Door: How Chinese Cost Innovation Is Disrupting Global Competition, was published by Harvard Business School Press in June 2007. He is the author of several other books and articles.
