6.10 What efforts are made by the University to promote autonomy in the affiliated/constituent colleges?

(i) Internal, Tests are held in each semester which is held in time. Results are

also published in time.

(ii) From 2015-16 session CBCS is introduced in the Autonomous college.

(i) University team had visited the college and their report had been

transmitted to U.G.C for extension of Autonomy and the compliance

from U.G.C is awaited.

(ii) As per NAAC authority’s letter No. NAAC/E&NER/2nd cycle-

/ORCOGN11556/2016, dt. 18.02.2016, The letter from North Odisha

University is procured to the effect that autonomous is neither

prohibited by Govt. nor by University for suo-moto continuance of

Autonomy of the institution, which has been transmitted to NAAC

authority of U.G.C vide this office letter No. 1895, dt. 02.09.2016

7. Innovations and Best Practices

7.1 Innovations introduced during this academic year which have created a positive impact on the

Functioning of the institution. Give details.

(i) Alumni Association provides adequate support to college authority in all

respects.

(ii) Alumni meetings are held off and on to have a considered look on all round

development of the institution.

(i) Proctorial system serves as the pathway for communication of views /

Remarks of college Authority in connection with the academic achievements

of sons/ daughters / wards of parents.

(ii) At times, the parents are called upon to have meeting(s) of them with the

college Authority for discussion on various aspects as per need of situation.

(i) Guest faculties are engaged in the institution, who are timely-paid by Govt.

(ii) The Daily wage workers of college are paid from college Development fund

and in the Hostels from respective Hostel funds.

(i) The campus is made Green by plantation in the college premises.

(ii) A beautiful Garden is developed over a 14 acres of land with good and

beneficial plants under social forestry project, Govt. of India under the aegis of

Tata sponge, limited.

(iii) Eco-friendly D.G sets are installed to mitigate the power crisis.

(iv) All science laboratories and big Halls are provided with exhaust fans for

expulsion of undesirable gases and proper oxygenation.

(i) The central Library started functioning in full swing.

(ii) Equipments in large number have been purchased from State Govt. Grant and

renovations of laboratories have been done.

(iii) A large number of text books, reference books etc are purchased from U.G.C

grant.

(iv) Three big women’s Hostels are at the verge of completion.

(i) Wi-fi campus programme is going to be accomplished under the aegis of

state Govt. Grant (Rs. 10 lakh) for the purpose.

(ii) A state Bank ATM started functioning.

(iii) The construction work of up stair of college library is completed.

(iv) The old library is renovated for conversion into e-valuation zone.

(i) Important state and National Dates / events are observed.

(ii) Swatch Bharat Abhiyan is regularly carried out.

(iii) Bana-mohostav Programmme is undertaken.

(iv) Self-defence Programme is carried out.

(i) Massive plantation is done in the premises to convert it into green campus.

(ii) Eco- friendly Generator sets are installed to meet power crisis.

(iii) Campus is maintained clean ahead by NSS/NCC volunteers.

1. Strength:-

(i) The college caters to the academic need of students of Keonjhar District and

other Districts of the state and neighbouring state.

(ii) The campus is made Wi-Fi by Govt.

(iii) Good numbers of industries are there in the district for employment of passed-

out students.

2. Weakness:-

(i) Lack of man power to achieve the expected Goal.

3. Opportunity:-

(i) Well-furnished library for staff and students.

(ii) The college is well-connected by Road and Railway with the State Headquarters.

4. Threat:-

(i) The college is yet to be declared as a deemed University.

(ii) Post graduate studies in different subjects other than the, existing should open

shortly to facilitate the rural students of the tribal districts for higher study.
