The requirements is a form that a director fills out to remind himself what equipment he needs. It’s also necessary as it tells runners what to get and it will also be in the interest of whoever’s funding the production. This document is used to record when you need a piece of equipment or an actor available and sometimes it will include the cost as well.

I wasn’t producing a large scale production for example an epic movie such as Ben Hur, that would require lots of extras and a wide variety of equipment such as dolly's and cranes. However I was only using a camera, tripod, a few props and two actors. I didn’t even need a boom poll because I wasn’t using sound. I therefore didn’t find it that useful as I could easily remember what I required.

The budget is usually filled out by directors or finical assistants. The information that goes into the budget is normally supplied by researchers or assistants of some kind. The budget is used to tell investors where their money is going. The budget could be a essential the production of a film and the work environment of a production as conflicts can arises between the people/studio who are funding the production and the director making the production if the production goes over budget. Investors often act through the producer, as it’s the producer who increases the pressure on a film director. And this kind of conflict could seriously impede the directors judgment as he might have less patience to film retakes and that will effect the product being made. So it’s a essential every cost and expense is correctly accounted for in the budget. As the director might need to have a surplus of cash at his disposal if filming runs over the planned schedule. This requires directors to plan ahead, for example if an bit of footage has a boom pole in shot then budgeters would need to make sure there’s money left over to pay the wages of the cast and crew for the re shoot.

The risk assessment is very important as it could have an effect on crucial factors like insurance. It will be harder to get an actor or stunt man insured for a film if he’s doing dangerous stunts such as abseiling, where there could be a big risk of injury. The risk assessment is important because if an actor gets seriously hurt and his or her management decide to sue, the provision of a risk assessment could stop a film company being sued for negligence. The risk assessments primary function is enabling a director manager to be able to plan so he could minimize risks. Although risk assessments can’t account for everything as incidents may beyond directors and flood managers control. Such as thunder or a wild animal or criminal suddenly being let loose. The risk assessment should be used to do the following things: 1. Identify the hazards2. Decide who might be harmed and how3. Evaluate the risks and decide on precaution4.Record your findings and implement them5.Review your assessment and update if necessary

I didn’t find the risk assessment that useful as I was filming all three adverts around or at school so there wasn’t a large number of possible accidents, and there was a first aider on site so there wasn’t much need for concern. However the risk assessment did make me take into account a few possible hazards that I hadn’t previously
