Weekly Mass Schedule Our Family of Parishes News: What is the purpose of a Family Name for our Parishes? Each parish will retain their individual name. Our Family Name has been formally accepted by Bishop Fabbro as the “LaSalle River Canard Catholic Family of Parishes”. This will identify our family as belonging to a geographical area. Our parishes are part of the Essex County Deanery which is part of the Diocese of London which belongs to the Roman Catholic Church. It is for this reason that the recommendation was given that a “religious name” such as Holy Family or Holy Trinity NOT be selected. In this way, there is no confusion that we are Sacred Heart, St. Joseph and St. Paul Parishes. Our Family Name is much like a surname, easily identifying our belonging to the “LaSalle River Canard Catholic Family of Parishes”.

Quel est le but d'un nom de famille pour nos paroisses? Chaque paroisse conservera son nom individuel. Notre nom « Famille de paroisses catholiques de LaSalle Rivière-aux-Canard » a été officiellement accepté par Mgr Fabbro. Cela identifiera notre famille comme appartenant à une zone géographique. Nos paroisses font partie du doyenné du comté d'Essex, qui fait partie du diocèse de London, qui appartient à l'Église catholique romaine. C'est pour cette raison que la recommandation a été donnée qu'un "nom religieux" tel que Sainte Famille ou Sainte Trinité ne soit PAS sélectionné. De cette manière, il n’y a pas de confusion à dire que nous sommes les paroisses du Sacré-Cœur, de Saint-Joseph et de Saint-Paul. Notre nom de famille ressemble beaucoup à un nom de famille, identifiant facilement notre appartenance à la « Famille de paroisses catholiques de LaSalle Rivière-aux-Canards ».

mandated Liturgical Ministers and Adult converts are invited to receive blessings during Holy Week Celebrations. Eucharistic

Ministers are invited to attend Holy Thursday Mass, Readers and Commentators are invited to attend the Good Friday Service and our Adult Converts are invited to attend the Easter Vigil for a blessing.

First Communion: The parents of children making their First Communion are reminded to gather with their child this Thursday at 5:45pm in the hall for an instruction before the 6:30pm parish celebration of the Last Supper.

UPCOMING MEETINGS

Vocation Corner: With praise and gratitude to Almighty God, the Diocese of London and St. Peter's Seminary announce the ordinations of Mr. Robert Renaud and Mr. Phil Guimaraes to the transitional diaconate. A transitional deacon is a seminarian in the last year of preparation for ordination to the priesthood. The Sacrament of Holy Orders for Robert will be conferred by His Excellency Joseph Dabrowski, Auxiliary Bishop of London, on Thurs., May 30th at 7 pm at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 4401 Mount Royal Drive, Windsor. The Sacrament of Holy Orders for Phil will also be conferred by Bishop Dabrowski on Tuesday, June 11th at 7 pm at Holy Cross Parish, 10 Elm Street, London. All are welcome to attend.

Save the Date: Invite your family and friends! St. Joseph Parish Ushers are hosting an all you can eat Pasta Dinner on Saturday, May 11th in the parish hall. Stay tuned for more information.

Holy Week Celebrations: The most important events of our faith are celebrated during Holy Week. Parishioners are invited and encouraged to make a special effort to participate in the Triduum: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. Each celebration marks a special event which is central to our faith.

Holy Thursday (bilingual) 6:30pm celebration of the Last Supper. The Mass will include the washing of the feet. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will follow in the Meeting Room followed by benediction at 10pm.

Good Friday Service (bilingual) will begin at 3pm with a silent procession, the reading of the Passion, veneration

of the cross and Holy Communion. REMINDER: Good Friday is a universal day of fasting and abstinence from meat.

(Collection today is for Share Lent)

Easter Vigil Eucharist (English) will begin at 8pm with the blessing of fire, the Easter proclamation, the Liturgy of the Word and Eucharist. RCIA participants will be received into the church. Everyone is encouraged to attend this beautiful celebration.

Our Coffee Sunday Committee will be hosting the reception after the Easter Vigil on Saturday. All are welcome!

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: There are 3 opportunities to pray before the

Lord in the Blessed Sacrament this week. There will be Adoration at St. Joseph School from 9:30am–2:30pm on Tues., April 16th and at École Monseigneur Caron from 9am – 2:30pm on Wed., April 17th There will also be Adoration on Holy Thursday after the Mass of the Last Supper in the meeting room until 10pm. Adoration will conclude with Benediction. Parishioners are welcomed as adorers at both schools as well as in the parish. Please pray for religious vocations!
