Offerings
Introduction to Lifetime Fitness
• This course is designed to develop awareness of the health-related components of fitness.
• This course must be passed to graduate.
• This course is a prerequisite for other advanced PE electives.
• This class is usually taken 9th grade year.
Community School Health/PE
• This is the Introduction to Fitness class and the Health class that is offered during the school year, but is offered the summer before their freshmen year.
• Each class is 3 hours long and lasts for 5 weeks.
• You register your student through the community school.
Health
• This course is designed to help students become more aware of issues and topics, which have an effect on their lives each day.
• Topics discussed: nutrition, mental/emotional health, substance abuse, CPR, disease and body systems.
• This class must be passed for graduation.
Beginning Weight Training
• Boys weight training class
• Introduction to basic weight lifting principles.
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
Intermediate Weight Training
• Wrestlers weight training class
• Must be approved by wrestling coach
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
Advanced Weight Training
• Boy athletes weight lifting class
• Must be approved by football coach
• Class starts at 6:50-zero period
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health
Body Sculpting
• Girl weight training class
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
Advanced Body Sculpting
• Girl athlete weight training class
• Must be approved by coach
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
Track and Field
• Running class for cross country and track athletes.
• Must have approval from Coach
• Prerequisite Intro to Fitness and Health.
• Zero period 6:50-7:45
Advanced Lifetime Fitness
• The purposed of this class is to perform and administer fitness assessment items, for the maintenance or improvement of all health related fitness components.
• Must be approved by coach
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
Team Sports
• This elective course develops personal skill and fitness level, while teaching strategies of team sports.
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
CPR/First Aid
• This course is designed as an introduction to emergency situations and their appropriate procedures.
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
Sports Medicine
• This course is designed to compare and contrast the purpose and roles of athletic training programs, identify basic anatomy necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and to identify protective equipment for injury prevention.
• Prerequisite: Intro to Lifetime Fitness/Health.
