PECC 60th Birthday Cele-On Saturday 13th September

2014, PECC celebrated it’s 60th

Birthday! Fun was had by all.

The children enjoyed various ac-

tivities from face painting to

jumping castles, CSIRO science

craft and experiments and look-

ing through telescopes with Cen-

tral West Astronomy club. The

Police, SES and Fire Brigade were

also great attractions for the chil-

dren.

The children sang songs for the

crowd, then everyone joined in

singing Happy Birthday as four

generations of the Norman family

- headed by Mrs Joyce (cont)

Norman and accompanied by

great granddaughter Stephanie

McNaughton - cut the celebra-

tion cake. Joyce’s daughter Wen-

dy Yeo, grand-daughter Kristy Yeo

and grandson Ben McNaughton

were also there for the celebra-

tion.

The cake stall, BBQ and raffle re-

ceived a wonderful response rais-

ing more than $2000.

The money raised from the day

will allow PECC to continue to de-

velop our playground area with

landscaping and construction

around our newly installed soft

fall area.

Thankyou to everyone who

helped out and to all those that

attended on the day for their

generous support !

In September the Gumnuts

were fortunate enough to

have prac student, Kym

Goodall from Forbes in the

playroom 3 days a week for a few weeks. In relation to Kym’s observations on the chil-

dren, and an interest in sandcastles, the children have been looking at houses and build-

ings. There have been some wonderful attempts at the easel to draw and paint hous-

es. The children have taken a look at photos and then created a very simple drawing

based on shapes to assist them in this activity. We also looked at some famous structures

that are based on shapes like the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Eiffel Tower, Pyramids of

Egypt and the Leaning Tower of Pisa!
