Crazy Hair Day will be on Friday, November 17. So remember to style some crazy hair! Some suggestions from last year were dying your hair with different colors or making buns and turn them into cup-cakes. You can also spike your hair! Remember to have school spirit every Friday by wearing a penguin shirt. Keep Catching Waves at Park Village

Park Village Foundation 2017-2018 Budget By Kari Marshall, Treasurer, Park Village Foundation
The Foundation and PTA continue to combine efforts to simplify fundraising and to provide all support and services to Park Village Elementary. As in previous years, we met with Principal Mosgrove prior to the start of the school year to discuss the school’s proposed funding needs. We then planned our fundraising goals and events to meet those needs. Based on this year’s proposal, our budget for the 2017-2018 school year is $144,180. This amount funds extra curriculum in academic and social enrichment programs the same way they were funded by the Foundation and PTA in prior school years.
Where does your money go?
Approximately 97.3% of our budget goes toward the
school’s academic and social programs. We are proud
to say we have continued to keep our operating
expenses to a minimum, ensuring that the maximum
amount of each donation is used to support our
school.
Donate now! Our Pledge Drive is ongoing. The
suggested Pledge Drive donation is $350 per student. You can donate to PVF at any time by either depositing a check in the Foundation mailbox located inside the school’s front gate, or via PayPal by visiting the Park Village Foundation website at http://parkvillagefoundation.com/pledge-drive/.
Thank you again Park Village! Together we are making a real difference in lives of all of our Park Village students.

The PUSD Adopt-A-Family program is starting up! We have an incredible opportunity to touch the lives of those in our community who may be having a difficult time. At Park Village Elementary, we are
once again committed to helping out several families within our district boundaries. Each grade level will adopt a family. There are hundreds of families in need, so if your neighbors, Book Club, Sports team, Scout Troop, Girl Scout, Bunco group, or even just your individual family would like to adopt a family in need, please let us know ASAP and we will get you a family profile. That is a great way to support families in need, model service, and charity to our children, and be gently reminded of how for-tunate we are. The Park Village community has a long history of blessing fam-ilies through this program, but we cannot do it without the amazing support of all of families. Please help us to help oth-ers this holiday season. For more information please contact Angie Hoar at [email protected].
Library Books Due Before Break By Shelley Fleming, Librarian
All school library books for students in TK and first grade are due by Friday, November 17 so they don’t get lost in the holiday shuffle. Older students are allowed to keep their books during break, but please ask your child to leave the library books at home if your family is travelling. Thanks!
Recycle Used Ink Cartridges
Did you know that you can turn in old ink cartridges
to Cosette or Gigi in the main office? A company col-
lects the used cartridges and pays the school direct-
ly, so it keeps them out of landfills, takes them
off your hands, AND helps raise money for the
school!
