Saint of the Week On May 18 we celebrate St. John I (470-526 ) Saint, Pope, and Martyr. As pope he inherited the Arian heresy, which denied the divinity of Christ. He led an embassy to Constantinople to negotiate a solution to the schism between the Roman and Byzantine emperors on Arian Christianity He died in 526 as a prisoner for heresy. He also established the Alexandrian computation of the date of Easter. Like St. John I, we do not choose the issues that

we face in our time “If you find that the world hates you, know it has hated Me before you” (John 15:18)

Fr. Kaseta recently shared with us the news that Venerable Solanus Casey, Capuchin is one step further on the way to Sainthood. On May 4,Pope Francis' confirmed the authenticity of a miracle attributed to Venerable Solanus Casey, opening the door to his beatification. Father Solanus spent his life in service of people and was sought out by thousands for his prayers

and advice at the door of the St. Bonaventure Monastery in Detroit. To learn more go to http://www.solanuscenter.org
