Dear Friends, Happy New Year! That famil iar greet ing resounds all over the world these days. Is it possible that
the quality of happiness is also the same? I suppose it is, but it does beg the question: what are the requirements for being happy? Or more to the point, what does it take to have you feel, to really believe that you are happy? Don ' t b e d i sm i s s i v e o f t h e question. Take some time to think of the answer to the question. Be honest, and ask what it is you are willing to do to achieve that happiness and make it a real choice to be happy. Just make sure your choice includes prayer. Many thanks to all who made our C h r i s t m a s c e l e b r a t i o n s s o beautiful! While it would be almost impossible to list all the names, be assured of my prayers for each of them. In the weeks ahead I will keep you informed of the progress and process of our renovation efforts. Please commend this great task to our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of the Lake. Peace, Fr. Michael

PARTNERS IN CHARITY As the end of 2017 quickly approaches, the Partners in Charity Office recently informed us that a balance of $7,809. remains on faith pledges from a handful of Our Lady of the Lake parishioners. For tax purposes the Diocese (Partners in Charity) will send tax letters out the first week of January 2018 reflecting what was actually received in the 2017 calendar year. This is not to be confused with a pledge gift amount, which may overlap two calendar years. If you have not yet sent in your pledge balance for 2017, please do so at your earliest convenience. If you have questions on a recent pledge you may have made please call 508-929-4368. Your continued support allows you to join thousands of Catholics around our community as we spread extraordinary charity by giving to those that need our love and compassion. Thank you!
Stewardship Calendars for 2018

Parish Family Pictures The Pastoral Council invites you to
have your picture taken on Sunday,

you missed out on this opportunity, now is your
chance! You can have a picture taken by yourself or
with your entire family. The hope is to be able to
create a parish family bulletin board so that we can

Father Carlos’ Pills of Faith
As we commemorate The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, we pray that through their intersession, our families may be
blessed. Mary is the model of all mothers, example of faith and full surrender to the will of God. Saint Joseph, a silent father who protects and loves his family. Jesus, the Son of God who desired to be born of a woman and to be raised in a humble family. This Holy Family is a sanctuary of faith, love and humility. “Here we admire, put into practice, the divine plan to make the family an intimate community of life and love; here we learn that every Christian family is called to be a small "domestic church" that must shine with the Gospel virtues”, Saint John Paul II says. We pray, Lord God we ask you to pour all your blessings upon our families, grant them peace, and fullness of prosperity. May all families be a temple of your presence, your mercy and love. Amen. !

Year-End Giving and Tax Benefits
The holiday season is a time to express appreciation and love for family and friends. It is also a time to do your tax planning, and we hope you will consider making good use of the income tax charitable deduction. A year-end donation can provide a tax benefit to you, while providing meaningful support to Our Lady of the Lake Parish. Giving is about much more than tax savings. Your charitable gifts make an important difference in what we are able to accomplish. Thank you.
Thank you for your Parish Support!
