RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

REGISTRATION!  In the quest to complete our

registration process for the 2017-2018 school year

before the summer break, we are asking parents to

register your children as soon as possible.

numbered as it comes in. Although we try to honor

your choice, we can only guarantee your choice of

your advantage as parents retain the ability to make

changes to your choice of day up until mid August,

should your schedule change later on in the spring.

Father Carlos’ Pills of Faith Sixth Sunday of Easter

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give

you another Advocate to be with you

always." Jesus now begins to speak of

the coming of the Holy Spirit. It is as if Jesus is

asking us to get ready, to prepare and await with deep

faith for the moment in which our hearts will be set on

fire. Then we will burn with the fire of wisdom,

understanding, and love. So let us start preparing our

souls and hearts with prayer, with petitions. And also,

with joyful attitudes because the Holy Spirit is coming,

and he will cover us with all his graces and blessings!

We pray, Holy Spirit come, come and renew our hearts

and the face of the earth. Alleluia, Amen.

Coffee Shop Help Needed! Sunday, May 21st is the last week for Coffee Shop after Mass and childcare during Mass for the summer months. We are in need

September to the end of May. Please call Lisa at 342-2978, x109 if you can help.

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord This Thursday, May 25th, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, a holyday of obligation for Catholics. Masses will be celebrated at 8:00AM. and 7:00PM. After Jesus ascended to heaven, his disciples gathered together with Mary, his mother, in an upper room. Together they waited and prayed for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, promised to them by Jesus. For nine days, they prayed fervently that the Spirit would come to them and fill them with the power to be faithful witnesses of the death and resurrection of Jesus. This was the first novena. As we prepare for Pentecost, let us pray the prayer below for nine days, that the Spirit’s presence may touch all of us deeply and make us faith-filled disciples of Jesus.

Spirit of wisdom and understanding, enlighten my mind to perceive the mysteries of the universe.

Spirit of right judgment and courage, guide me and make me firm in my baptismal

decision to follow Jesus' way of love.

Spirit of knowledge and reverence, help me to see the lasting value of justice and mercy in my everyday dealings with others.

Fill my life with wonder and awe in your presence which permeates all of creation.

Spirit of God, spark my faith, hope, and love into new action each day. Holy Spirit,

animate, inspire, and guide me, and help me to always be a true follower of Jesus.
