Festival 2020 The 2020 Festival will be August 24-29, 2020. This will be the first time in the history of the festival where it will be held at the end of the summer instead of the beginning of the summer – maybe it won’t rain! Plans are underway and excitement is in the air! High schoolers, this will provide you with a fun way to fulfill service hours early in the school year. Mark your calendar, this will be a fun event to end our summer and begin the school year!

Mass Intentions The scheduled Mass Intentions are being said during the livestream masses and during the private masses being said by our priests. There are still intentions available at both churches. Home with the Lord St. Mary & St. Ursula Remember Lord and welcome into your Kingdom those who have died and have gone before us marked in the sign of faith, especially Anthony Cerminara; Jim Krsul, brother of Ron Krsul; Edward R. Buszkowski; and Robert G. McDermot, father of Patricia Rosswog. Please re-member to pray for the consolation of their loved ones.

Is Your Information Accurate in Our Records? As you update your Census this year with the govern-ment, please think about the records we have for you. Are they correct? Have you dropped your landline, but forgot to update your cell phone? Have you moved recently and don’t get your Sunday envelopes anymore? Would you like to be contacted electronically instead of via mail?

Please contact the rectory at either St. Mary or St. Ursula to make any changes to your records.

If you don’t ever hear from us, you might not be a registered member. Registration is available online!

Faith Sharing Trinity Sunday From the moment of one’s Baptism, the presence of God the Father, Son-Jesus, and their Holy Spirit of Love lives within the “child of God”. A Greek word, “epichoresus” means the “round dance of the Trinity” which is ever the movement in the heart of every believer. Celebrate the “first divine Family” by dancing with Them this week.

Faith Formation at St. Mary Lessons have been returned to our Faith Formation office and are being reviewed by their catechists. Congratulations to the parents who monitored their childrens’ faith lessons as well as all the online studies from their respective schools. More Congratulations to so many who faithfully participat-ed in livestreamed liturgies and continued to pray daily for all challenged by the pandemic.

Keep Praying!

First Eucharist - Next Weekend The feast of the Body and Blood of Christ is a perfect time to welcome many First Communicants. They have prepared and waited through the pandemic. Pray for them as they receive Jesus for the first time on June 13th at 10:00 am or June 14th at 11:00 am.

Confirmation Please continue to pray for our Confirmation Candi-dates as they eagerly await a new date.

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Even though the Easter season has drawn to a close, today’s feast still basks in the glow of Easter’s twilight. To believe that we are made in the image and likeness of God—a God whose inner life is described in terms of community—is to recognize that we are in relationship with one another. In the language of the liturgy, we do not each stand alone before God, but constantly affirm this truth in the very words of our prayers. “We believe, we offer, we ask you,” we say, or “have mercy on us, hear us, listen to our prayer,” and in preparation for Communion, we pray the perfect prayer to “Our Father.” To be baptized is to enter into the life of a community of faith. Nowhere is this sense of community more focused than at Sunday Mass, when we respond to the love of the Father by being together in Christ, embraced by the Spirit, for the sake of the world. Today has been called an “idea feast,” and impossible to grasp fully. Yet, as the readings today explore, the Trinity is not a concept traced like a triangle on a blackboard. It is the air we breathe, the sign we trace on our bodies as a pledge and promise of God’s love. —James Field, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Prayer to the Trinity Glory be to the Father, Who by His almighty power and love created me, making me in the image and likeness of God. Glory be to the Son, Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell, and opened for me the gates of heaven. Glory be to the Holy Spirit, Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism, and continues to sanctify me by the graces I receive daily from His bounty. Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity, Now and forever. Amen.

Pope John Paul II's Prayer for Peace Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace. Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love. Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace. Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace. May all peoples on the earth become as brothers and sisters. May longed for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all. - Pope John Paul II

A Prayer for Hope and Peace Heavenly father, I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope. I need hope for a calm and joyful future. I need hope for love and kindness. I pray for peace and safety. Some say that the sky is at its darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for today seems stormy and dim. I need your light, Lord, in every way. I pray to be filled with your light. Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and service. In your name I pray, Amen.

Flea Market Update

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have no choice but to cancel the St. Mary Flea Market

schedule for July. We know this is a disappointment.

We are currently exploring the idea of a “virtual” flea market using social media to sell donated items. Unfor-tunately, we will only be able to accept items that we can sell on internet sites and not be able to accept some of the smaller items such as plastics, glassware, knick-knacks, linens, mugs or other small items but it will provide some much-needed revenue to St. Mary Parish.

We need a place to store the donations. Do you have a large garage, barn or storage shed you could lend us for a couple of months? We promise to be out of it by next summer and we will leave it in better shape than we found it! Please call either Theresa Benedek at 412-486-4787 or Kate DiGirolamo at 412-901-8081 if you can help us. We are excited for the opportunity to offer a virtual St. Mary of the Assumption Flea Market!
