It was a splendid display of students' talent in the field of creative performance through the medium of dancing, singing and acting. Commodore Deepak Bhatia, Chairman, NCS inaugurated the function. The Principal, Smti. Anita Devi, welcomed the gathering and spoke about the major achievements of the school in academics, sports and other activities along with technical upgradations carried out during the academic year. This was followed by an enthralling cultural fiesta by around 450 students, Scintillating prog. marks annual day celebration of Navy Children School starting with a vandana dance, followed by engaging acts by the students of primary section showcasing their talent through various international dance forms such as Italian, Salsa, Russian, Arabian and Hawaiian in addition to folk dances of India. The programme culminated with a skit, 'Sarfarosh - A Tribute to the Soldier', portraying the dedication of a soldier towards the country. The entire show was also interspersed with humorous skits to keep the audience enthralled. Alager Swamy was the chief guest while Pradhan Awareness prog. on alcohol & drug abuse created of Nilambur, Shri Roy George was the guest of honour. The Andaman Wild pig is protected under schedule- I of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 and hunting of the animal is a punishable offence. Registrations for the same are currently open and the students whose entries will be selected will get a chance to meet and interact with Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The PPC 2020, which is scheduled for next month, aims at helping board exam aspirants eliminate stress and also meet the PM to ask him various questions. Participating students can take part in the PPC 2020 by writing essays in five themes – ‘Gratitude is great’; ‘Your future depends on your aspirations’; ‘Examining exams’; ‘Our duties, your take’ and ‘Balance is beneficial’. These 'Haat' aims to provide market exposure and employment opportunities to artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts. Ministry of Minority Affairs said, in the coming days, Hunar Haat will be organized in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dehradun, Patna, Indore and other places. The Ministry has also sanctioned 100 Hunar Hubs in different parts of the country wherein training is being provided to master artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts. According to the Ministry, more than two lakh 65 thousand artisans and craftsmen have been provided employment through 'Hunar Haat' in the last two years. The first 'Hunar Haat' was organized in Jaipur in August-September this year. More than 200 Central Govt to organize 100 'Hunar Haats' in next five years master artisans and culinary experts including a large number of women artisans from every corner of the country participated in this 'Hunar Haat'.
