First 3 Days of School

Morning• Teachers will welcome and take over students at the

canteen (according to class) (wear name tags)

• Parents/ guardians to inform teachers on how their child/ ward go home, e.g. by school bus, walk home (back gate/ front gate)

• Teachers to take the students to the assembly area

• Parents may proceed to attend workshops organised by the school

Recess• 9.15 a.m. instead of 9.30 a.m.

(15 minutes earlier)

• P4 students will be assigned as Buddies for P1 students

(Refer to Pg 9, General Information for Parents & Guardians Booklet)

Parents to support from behind cordoned area

Dismissal• 1.15 p.m. instead of 1.30 p.m.

• At the library (level 1)

- transport operators will take students from

the library to the buses

- Student Care will pick up students from the

library

- The rest of the students will be handed

over to the parents class by class outside the library

Friday, 5 Jan Onwards…

In the morning,

• Staff and student leaders will be at the front porch and canteen to receive P1 students and guide them to the hall (name tags)

• Recess: P4 Buddies continues to support P1 students for the 1st 2 weeks

• Dismissal: Students will be dismissed at the

back / front gate

• If your child returns home by bus, please remind your child of the bus number.

• All visitors are to report at the Security Guard Post to obtain a Visitor Pass.

Tips on how to help your child adapt to the new

routine and school environment

•Helping your child develop a routine

- Explain how to read the school timetable together

- Explain and show them how to pack their schoolbag

- Develop an after-school routine

- Having a specific area for school books,

- materials and clothes

•Building confidence and independence

- Share your personal experiences of school and encourage them to share their feelings.

- Explain how to manage their pocket money

- Encourage him/ her to ask teachers or older students for help when necessary

• Listening and relaying information

- Do regular checks on forms and the Students’ Diary

- Let your child know the importance of relaying the information
