Researching courses through UCAS
https://www.ucas.com/
On the UCAS homepage, click on ‘Find a course’
22/06/2016 6
Fill in your details in the green box.
22/06/2016 7
You will then see all the universities who offer your chosen course
22/06/2016 8
You can then check the entry requirements for that course
Select the course you want from the list.
22/06/2016 9
Click on Entry Requirements
22/06/2016 10
On the left hand side, you need to select the qualifications you are taking, and check that they are accepted. If the qualification is in a green box, like above, then A-levels are accepted. If the qualification is in a orange box, the qualification will be accepted in combination with a qualification in a green box. If your qualification isn’t listed, then
you need to contact the university to double check it is accepted.
22/06/2016 11
You then need to check the entry requirements for that course
E.g. for History at this university, BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas are in an orange box, so would be accepted in combination with an A-level (which was in a green box). If your qualification is in a black box, it means it is not accepted by this university. If
in doubt, ring the university, their details can be found on the previous UCAS page.

Deadlines
Some training providers have deadlines. E.g. Gen2 close their applications the end of February.
Other than this, applying for an apprenticeship is like applying for a job – deadlines will vary and
will be at different times of the year.
