Parents – Watch Out For Those Red Flags

No one ever said that raising kids is an easy task, but it is completely worth it. They are treasures you need to take care of always. Once they turn ten, they actually need more love and support than ever before. These are the ages that peer pressure becomes very great. I know that sometimes adults’ lives can get complicated, but if you are a parent you need to make sure you are providing proper guidance for your child. No matter what is going on in your personal life, you need to watch out for those red flags.

If you don’t bother to take the necessary time they may end up trying cigarettes. Now, this may not seem like such a big deal at first, but it can lead to worse substance abuse, such as marijuana, alcohol, cocaine and much more.

There are so many red flags that you need to keep your eyes peeled for:

Anxiety, if prolonged, can become problematic. It can lead to self destructive behavior.

Depression can make their mood low and very poor. Now, of course, some sadness is normal, but to what extent?

Alienation from friends and loved ones is extremely unhealthy for their social development.

Emotional avoidance is usually repression of anger and hurt. They simply do not want to process those difficult emotions.

Risk taking, believe it or not, is connected to the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. At this particular age, they need to have some excitement because too much boredom can actually lead them down a deadly road.

So, if you want them to grow from ten to seventeen with an overall healthy mental, emotional and social development then get involved asap. As you can see, it is so,

important to spend time with your children. They need to be your number one priority. You might be the main reason they have a terrific future.
