Math Courses Credit Recovery by Ms. Nichols
This year we are offering credit recovery in math. Students who meet the requirements will be offered one or more VLACS competencies that focus on the areas of which students did not master. This is new so teachers will be contacting students who meet the requirements asking if they are interested in credit recovery to contact them for their assignment.

Congratulations to the 8th Graders who stepped up to High School on June 6, 2019. Chairman Best presented each student with a certificate and Dean Mooney spoke. Thank you Mrs. Dougherty for helping to coordinate along with Student Senators.
New Hampshire Scholars 2019
Recently, 8 of The Founders Academy seniors were recognized as NH Scholars. The program’s aim is that "students who undertake this rigorous Core Course of Study will challenge themselves to do their best work during their high school career and will enjoy a wider range of postsecondary options upon graduation." NH Scholars may also be qualified for certain college application fee waivers and additional scholarship money. Congratulations to the following students on your achievement:
Caroline S. Paige D. Daniel B.
Michael H. Caitlyn S. David G. Anissa S.
Jacqueline J.
Jessica B. Named the Central New Hampshire Youth Poet Ambassador
Congratulations to Jessica B. who was named the Central New Hampshire Youth Poet Ambassador by the NH Youth Poet Laureate Committee! This is an extraordinary statewide distinction! In the notification email, it was stated: "The role of the Central New Hampshire Youth Poet Ambassador is an honorary one-year position. We ask that you commit to heightening the visibility and value of poetry by and for young people in the state. It is entirely up to you how to shape your time in this role. The only requirement is that you engage in two public events throughout the year. The events or opportunities can take on any shape, size, format, and be in any location. We know you will make an excellent representative for your region. The committee will organize an opportunity for all of the regional representatives and the Youth Poets Laureate to meet either in person or by video early in the fall of 2019. Committee members greatly valued reading your work. Comments included, Jessica has demonstrated that she is an effective public speaker and peer leader; her poems have wonderful imagery eliciting emotion and creative metaphors; Jessica has expressed a range of feelings and thoughts about social and political aspects of our lives; her vision was broad and may benefit from picking one or two goals for the year and excelling in those commitments; the committee especially enjoyed the poem, 'Fear.' " Congratulations, Jessica!
