DISTRICT 94’S CCSS ALIGNMENT
The materials do not drive the boat. They are a tool to implement the curriculum/standards.
Our new CCSS aligned curricula are standards based. They are a continuous work in progress. They will continue to be reviewed and enhanced on a consistent basis.
Alignment Process1. Develop a strong CCSS-based order of
introduction, scope and sequence.2. Pace the CCSS into integrated units.3. Create rigorous measurable objectives for
each CCSS standard to drive lessons.4. Build CCSS progress monitoring assessments
into scope and sequence.5. Determine the use of current instructional
materials as a tool to teach the CCSS.

complete 8 units per year Revisions of ELA units Maintain a strong focus on writing in all subject areas Develop a math scope and sequence and align curriculum accordingly. Continue professional development in the area of curriculum writing and
Instructional strategies professional development Align social studies curriculum to ELA units of study Align science curriculum to ELA and math units of study New tools/resources Enhance consistency and alignment of our report card grading system Identify learning gaps and areas for acceleration
