Higher Level (HL) – To complete an HL assessment, students must take a 2-year sequence of courses with content from the IB syllabus

Standard Level (SL) – To complete an SL assessment, students may 1) complete a 2-year sequence of courses with content from the IB syllabus or 2) complete a 1-year course specifically designed to meet SL syllabus requirements.

Students may complete an SL assessment in a class preparing them for HL

To develop independent research and writing skills expected by universities and to investigate a topic of special interest within the 27 IB subject areas

-4,000 words-DUE January, 2nd Diploma year and send directly to IB-Support: Adult mentor from Interlake, Megan Bennett in library, Bellevue district resources, UW libraries, the IB office, ToK teachers…-Calendared check-ins and due dates-Student: 40 hours, three reflections along the way-Mentor: 3-4 hours, viva voce and final reflection with predicated score
