For Totor and his kind, the territory of Aiguebelle is the ideal place of settlement with its 80 lakes and 280 km of streams. There is 6.6 colonies per 10 km2 in the park, one of the highest densities of beavers in Québec.

Enigmatic and accessible, fault lakes offer a variety of activities in a grand setting... Where the waters part ways

Discover the most spectacular elements of Aiguebelle’s landscape. Take a canoe trip on Lac Sault to cross the watershed line, climb down the cliff with a spiral staircase or cross the impressive fault of Lac La Haie on a suspended footbridge. If you observe well, you will find traces of the presence of glaciers, volcanic cushions and giant cauldrons in rock 2.7 billion years old. Above all, you will be seduced by the warm welcome of our staff. It’s up to you to choose your adventure!

safety of other visitors are not allowed.*Individuals who fail to comply with any of the rules stated above may be required to leave the area and/or issued a statement of offence, where appropriate.

FAMILY EXCURSION IN CANOE Abijévis camping’s famous excursion, Matissard d’un soir is a great way to surprise the wildlife of the lake in full activity with a park ranger. Reservations required, no experience necessary.

THE SECRETS OF LAC LA HAIE To know everything about the Abijévis hills, the formation of fault lakes and their spectacular rocky escarpments, meet one of our park rangers posted at the La Traverse lookout point during the Geo Casse-Croute activity or take a seat aboard the Rabaska in a Spectacular Fault.

Price: $ 11.30 / adult, free for children accompanied by an adult. Rabaska activities by reservation only

FAMILY FUNTo take advantage of the sunny days of summer, the Abijévis and Ojibway campgrounds offer a variety of watercraft for rental such as four-seater paddle boats and stand up paddle boards. Get more information at one of our Visitors Center.

Enjoy mornings on the water at 50% off on all hourly watercraft rentals. * Restrictions may apply

The ruffed grouse is regularly observed on the road side of the park.

WINTER AT AIGUEBELLEKicksled, fat bikes, skis OAC, toboggan circuit and more than 60 km of marked trails for Nordic skiing or snowshoeing. The winter landscapes of the park are sure to move you! Luggage transportation is also offered from the Discovery and Visitors Center.

Ready to CampWith a capacity of 4 to 6 people, this accommodation is ideal to enjoy the pleasures of camping without having to lug all the gear. Equipped with an auxiliary heater, you will also find a refrigerator and the necessary for the preparation of meals.

The Ultimate ComfortThe authentic log cabins “chalets” of the park will seduce you every visit. Furnished, electricity, running water, a canoe to navigate and a barbecue, all you have to do is add a few logs to the fireplace to warm up during the cooler evenings.

CONSERVE FOR TOMORROW

GETTING ALONG WITH OUR NEIGHBOURS Lumbering, mining exploration, hunting and trapping are some of the activities practised near the park boundaries. A committee led by the Conseil Regional de l’Environnement is currently working on booklets to guide the various users of the territory in order to contribute to the protection of the park’s natural resources.

Interviews with local users conducted during the summer of 2018 confirmed that several packs of wolves frequent the periphery of the park.

A FRAGILE RESOURCEHill lakes have clear, cold, well-oxygenated water that meets the many requirements of brook trout, also known as speckled trout. Since it is an unusual species in Abitibi, the harvesting of brook trout is closely monitored with the collaboration of the Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks.

DID YOU KNOW THAT There are 13 endangered species that can be seen in the park? There are six bird species including the bald eagle, the common nighthawk, the chimney swift, and the olive-sided flycatcher. If you observe any of these species, please advise one of our park rangers!

Remember that animals are in their natural habitat and that you are a visitor. To ensure both your safety and theirs, feeding them is prohibited; otherwise they may lose their natural fear of human beings and become aggressive.

To preserve our natural riches, you are not allowed to remove any natural elements (animals, plants, dead wood, rocks, etc.). Please also keep to established hiking trails to avoid trampling flora.
