Subjuntivo – What is it?
• The Subjunctive is not a tense. It is a MOOD.
• It is used to report an action that is not necessarily real, or it depends on something else. The Subjunctive signals that the action may or may not happen or it may not be true.

You have learned the Indicative Mood. (The present, preterit, imperfect and
future tenses) The Indicative tells what is true; what happens, what happened and what will happen.
The Subjunctive Mood tells what may or may not happen; or what may not be true.
It is true that today is Tuesday. Indicative - true
I wish that today were Friday. Subjunctive – not true
