1.Makingafolderforyourcoursevideos.
GotoyourMyGatewaycourseandclickToolsontheleftsidenavigationbar.NowclickthePanoptoFocusContentlink.ClicktheConfigurebutton.Yourcoursewillbeautomaticallyselectedonthefollowing.ClickSubmit.AfolderwillbecreatedforyourcourseontheUMSLPanoptosite.
2.DownloadPanoptoRecordersoftware.
Gotohttp://bit.ly/YeCVsetodownloadPanopto.YoumayneedtologinwithyourMyGatewaySSOIDandpassword.DownloadandinstallthePanoptoRecordersoftwaretoyourcomputer.ThereisaMacandPCversion.
3.Pluginyourwebcameraand/ormicrophone.
4.OpenthePanoptoRecordersoftware.
ItwillbeintheProgramsmenu(StartàAllprogramsàPanopto)forWindowsusersorintheApplicationsfolderforMacusers.
5.LoginwithyourSSOIDandpassword.
OnPC/Windows: ClickLoginwithMyGatewaybutton
EnteryourSSO-ID([email protected])andpasswordintheboxesundertheBlackboardLearnlogo. ClickLoginbutton.
OnMac: ClickLogInbuttonatthetopoftheapplicationwindow.
Type“panopto.umsl.edu”inthetextboxnexttoServer.Then,clicktheGetProvidersforServerbutton.
Adrop-downboxwillappear.Fromthedropdown,chooseMyGateway.AscreenwillopenwhereyoucanenteryourSSO-ID([email protected])andpassword.Then,clickLogin.
6.Clickthe“CreateaNewRecording”tabatthetopoftheapplication.

7.Chooseyourvideoandaudiosources(microphoneorwebcam)fromthePrimarySourcesection.It’simportanttocalibrateyourmicrophoneorwebcamforvolumesotherecordingwon’tbetooquietorhavefeedback.OnPC/Windows:

8.Chooseyoursecondarysource(PowerPoint,screenrecording,etc.),ifdesired,fromtheSecondaryCaptureSources.
9.Hit“Record”(onPC/Windows)or“StartRecording”(onMac).Recordyourpresentation.Youmayclick“Pause”topausetherecording.
10.OntheRecordingStatustab,click“UploadtoServer”.Ifyouareunhappywithyourrecording,justclickDeleteandstartover.
Thewindowthatopenswillaskyouwhereyouwanttouploadthelecture.Findyourcourseandclick“AddNewLecture”.YouwillthenbeabletogivetheLectureaname.Bydefault,itwillbenamedbythedate/timeitwascreated.Uploadingtotheserverwilltakeafewminutesdependingonthelength/qualityofyourvideo.
11.Oncethelecturehasbeenuploaded,youcangotoyourcourseinMyGatewayandlinkthelectureforyourstudents.Todoso,gotothefolderwhereyouwanttoaddthelink.ClickTools,thenPanoptoVideolink:
12.Onthenextscreen,selectyourcoursefromthefolderdrop-downmenu(A),wait3secondsandthenselecttheLectureyoumade(B).Youmaythenre-titleitifyouwish(C)oraddadescription(D).Whenyouarereadytoaddthelink,clickSubmit.
13.Onthenextscreen,clickOK.Thelinkwillnowbeaddedtothefolderinyourcourse.
14.You’vedoneit!Now,justrepeatforyourotherlectures.
