Here I write about Panch Badri . Badri is a name of lord Vishnu, so all the panch badri related to lord

Vishnu. All the five temple in Panch Badri related to lord vishnu.

Badri Nath :

Badrinath was re-established as a major pilgrimage site by Adi Shankara in the ninth century Located

only a few kilometers from the Indo-China (Tibet) border Badrinath is located at 3044N 7929E /

30.73N 79.48E / 30.73; 79.48.[1] It has an average elevation of 3,415 metres (11,204 feet). It is in the

Garhwal hills, on the banks of the Alaknanda River.The town lies between the Nar and Narayana

mountain ranges and in the shadow of Nilkantha peak (6,560m) Badrinath is located 301 km north of

Rishikesh. From Gaurikund (near Kedarnath) to Badrinath by road is 233 km.

How To Reach Badri Nath :

The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport near Dehradun, (317 km). The nearest railway stations are

at Haridwar (310 km) and Rishikesh(297 km) and Kotdwar, (327 km) respectively. There are regular

buses operating to Badrinath, from New Delhi, Haridwar and Rishikesh. As the roads are very narrow,

for your safety it is recommended to travel by all terrain vehicles. Until recently you could not drive here,

Badri(Panch Badri)

Another Badri pilgrimage centre of local importance is this group of 16 temples enroute to Ranikhet and

close to the confluence at Karan Prayag. The main temple is dedicated to Narayan and has a raised

platform in the pyramidal form. Within the temple, a black stone idol is installed. It is believed that these

temples, dating to the Gupta age, were sanctioned by Adi Shankaracharya who wanted to spread the

tenets of Hinduism to every remote corner of the country.

Nearest airport is Jolly Grant 209 kms from Rishikesh.

Rail: The nearest railhead, Rishikesh, is 192 kms.

Road: Adi Badri is approachable from KaranPrayag, 19 kms, which in turn is connected by a rnotorable

road with Ranikhet, Nainital and RamnagarNearest Tourist Rest House is at Karanprayag, Temple

Committee Guest House,private hotels and dhararnshalaa are available at Karan Prayag..

Vridha Badri

Bridha Badri or the old Badri is the third temple about 7 kms short of Joshimath, on the main

Rishikesh-Badrinath motor road at Animath. It is believed that Badrinath was worshipped here before its

enshrinement by Shankaracharya at the main Badrinath seat.The Bridha Badri is open

throughout the year

Yogdhyan Badri

Badri, 1,920 mts, is located at Pandukeshwar, named after the Pandvas King. It is said that the

Pandavas, victorious after their battle against the Kauravas, but emotionally scarred, came to the

Himalayas. And it was here that they handed over their capital, Hastinapur, to Raja Parikshit and took up

penance before seeking out the highway to heaven. The importance of the badri is immense and the

sanctum has an image of the lord in a meditative posture

Road: Yogdhyan Badri is located just 23 kms short of Badrinath on a motorable road from Rishikesh.

Regular buses and taxis ply on the route.

Bhavisya Badri

located at 2,744 mts. amidst the thick forests surrounding Tapovan. According to a divination, it is here

that all devotees will throng once Badrinath is no more. While there can be no conceivable reason why

this should happen, scientists agree that Joshimath, the entry point into the area befare the final, most

strenuous climb, is sited on an ancient landslide and has been sinking, and with a barrage coming up

close by, may actually see the fulfillment of the divine prophecy.But whatever happens, Bhavishya Badri

is popular even now. Enshrined here is the lion-headed image of Narsingh. Visitors pass the serene

Tapovan a place known for its hot water springs en route to the banks of the Dhauliganga, and on to



the shrine.

How To Reach Bhavisya Badri:



Road: Bhavishya Badri is connected by a motorable road up to Saldhar, which is 274 km from Rishikesh

and 19 km from Joshimath. From Saldhar, pilgrims have to trek 6 km up to the shrine.The

accommodation is available at Joshimath and Tapovan..
