Concert is a very special concert

put on each year by the

hard-working and dedicated

Parkview Choir. The choir votes on

their favorite nine anthems that

they have sung during the past

year. The nine with the most votes

are sung during the concert.

The tenth anthem is the congregational favorite from the previous year ’s

concert.

Christmas Social Thanks to Marilyn and Roger Appeldorn for again hosting this annual adult social event on Saturday, December 10th. Forty-one people attended and enjoyed wonderful fellowship and delicious food. The singing of carols really brought the spirit of Christmas into our hearts. I must say that the singing of the "12 Days of Christmas" was sung like no other year in memory. Janice Anderson again accompanied us on piano, so we thank her for her talent and patience. Looking forward to next year's social! Linda and Larry Meyer, Coordinators

FROM THE MISSION BOARD

A report on our Talking Circles during Lent

During the five Wednesdays of Lent, we formed Talking Circles to examine beliefs suggested by

members:

How do you view the Bible, e.g., the creation story?

How do you view miracles, e.g., do we have free will?

How do you view the problem of evil?

How do you view our Sunday morning greeting?:

“Whoever you are and wherever you are on your life journey, you are welcome here.” Can

anyone join regardless of beliefs?

How do you view heaven? Do you live so you can go to heaven or to leave a legacy of

doing good, or???

We learned that our members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Everyone shared

their faith stories in personal and inspiring ways. Our stories were heard respectfully, learning from

one another.

Each of us is on our own faith journey. Each of us has the right to our own beliefs. One beauty of

journeying together is that we can share our beliefs with each other, listen and learn from each other,

and feel the support and companionship of each other.

Our circle process reduces walls that divide, bridges chasms that separate us, and demonstrates that

the love of God for us has no boundaries.

We invite you to share your feedback on our Lenten series with any of the Mission Board members:

FROM THE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION BOARD

This year, as an alternative to the Mission Board’s “Talking Circles”, the Christian Education board decided to try something different, in the way of a hands on activity. Over the 5 weeks of Lent, we offered:

1) A yoga class, thank you to Laura Brandt, attended by 5 people 2) Two fleece blanket tying sessions, attended by approximately 10 people. Blankets to be donated to various charities. 3) Two acrylic painting sessions, on 8x10 canvas, various designs, attended by approximately 10 people. Paintings on display in the hallway alcove. Thank you to all who took part!

NOTICE

Parkview to conduct a Feasibility Study

Parkview is inviting all members to participate in a feasibility study. The study’s purpose is to deter-mine if our congregation will support a capital campaign to update and enhance our facility. We have hired Mark Davy & Associates, a firm with twenty-eight years of experience working with churches, to conduct the study. The feasibility study will be taking place over the next couple of months and focus on the following areas: Awareness and importance of our vision Parkview’s strengths Areas of concerns that may affect a capital campaign Communication preferences of members Level of potential volunteers to conduct a successful campaign Financial support available

We Need Your Input

The study will assess our capability to move forward with a capital campaign to fund enhancements to our facility. All households will soon receive an invitation to participate in a confidential interview at the church. When receiving your letter please respond as soon as possible. Results from the study will be shared with church leaders and the congregation to help in deciding our next steps. Thank you for your consideration to participate in this important effort! Please pray for Parkview and the Lord’s guidance throughout this process.

Calling all musicians, young, old, and in between!

Parkview needs you to be a part of the summer music program! The Parkview Choir takes a

well deserved break during the summer months. We need volunteers that would like to provide

instrumental or vocal music for the Sundays in the summer. There are two spaces to fill during

the service. We welcome solo performers or ensembles. It’s up to you and your creativity. If you
