    A) INTRODUCTIONCommercial Banks have introduced credit card facilities

    in the early 1980s from then, the facility has become popular among

    the public as well as banks.

    As a contrast, credit cards have a much wider use they may

    be used both for cash withdrawals from an ATM and for ElectronicFunds Transfer at the point of sale(EFTPOS).A credit card does not

    require any balance to be maintained by the customer but offers a credit.

    Among the payment choices tucked away in a consumers a

    wallet is the credit card. Its popularity since its debut in the late 1950s

    has skyrocketed many people enjoy the convenience and protections it

    offers, such as the ability to defer payments and keep records ofpurchases. The credit card provider issues credit card which are

    designed to pay for things and services either online or in shops.

    Importance :

    - Credit cards have become popular from past few years in Indianmarket as almost all the nationalizes banks come with the conceptof credit cards.

    - If we take a little survery on credit cards we can see mixedresponse from the people

    - If we can use it in a proper way we have many advantages wwiththe credit card.

    -In case of a credit card, there is an annual charge, which is walvedby some banks.

    - Bookkeeping is the task of maintaining financial records

    - It has everything to do with your credit history & your ability tosecure a loan when you need it.

    Significance :

    The purpose of credit is to help people buy the things theyneed right away & pay for them overtime

    Consumers who budget smartlyand spend usely can use creditcards easily & efiictively for large or even daily purchase .

    Unfortunetly, many people see credit cards as a source of freemoney

    Over time these people find them selves further & further indebt & may eventually find it impossible to pay back

    everything they over.

    Credit card fraud is fairly common new a day in an attempt todeter it.

    I look forward to hearing the terms by which persons will beable to get this new debit card .

    B) RATIONALE

    If you dont have cash & need by something small with a credit card

    this forces you to buy more stuff which result in greater revenues for

    the store.

    -Its the equivalent of stores that wont make change for a dollar,by saying they cant open the register without a purchase.

    - Business are relying on trade credit.

    - Although providing credit result in taking credit risk, givingcustomers some grace period before paying their credit purchase

    does have some associated benefits.

    - Credit card companies say they dont surprise-

    Over time these people find them selves further & further in debt& may eventually find it impossible to pay back everthing they

    over.

    A)OBJECTIVEAny time that you apply for credit whether it be for a credit card

    auto loan or home loan a lender will review your credit report &

    determine your credit rating.

    The higher your ratings, the more likely you are to quality as wellas to no. of higher loan amounts and lower bintrest rates

    A high credit rating can offer you a degree of financial freedomthat those with a low rating may never see.

    Promote best practice across the card payments industryWork to influence the card & credit industry stakeholders.Offer specialized knowledge on card payments issued.Be recognized as the primary source for industry management

    Society today almost requies people to carry creditcards .

    You place a phone call to the number provided in yourtourist guide or in the local daily press .

    E ) RESEARCH METHODOLOGY.

    Source of Data:

    Primary Data: data were collected through mall intercept technique in

    six metropolitan cities of india.A selfadminstered questionnaire was distributed to customer

    visiting the malls.the credit cardholders were banks , forign banks &

    private banks giving almost equal representation.

    Secondary data: the link above is primary on the use of secondarydata for purpose of calculating statistics in this electronic age

    secondary data is disseminated very rapidly , such as credit card of

    employment history.

    Tools of Data Analysis : Statistical tools will be used in the form of Pi-Charts,

    Graphs and Diagrams

    F) EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION:- Gain knowledge on the different types of Credit cards use for various

    purpose.

    - Better understanding of a renowned banks which uses Credit cards for

    extensively and forms area for further research.
